Since kids grow so fast, their clothes quickly become unwearable even though they still look nice. 7 Instead of making your local kids’ clothing store rich, organise a club of parents from your child’s school or daycare to exchange hand-me-down clothing.
8 Always buy the same colour and style of socks for your child—preferably white, since you can bleach(漂白) them when they are stained. Since socks always disappear, when you lose one of a pair, you can pair it up with another, because they are all the same.
It is a good idea to take a job for a discount. If you are looking for apart-time job, fill out applications at shops where you often do your shopping. 9 If you have teenagers in your home who are ready for a job, encourage them to work at your family’s favourite stores with employee discounts too. Why not help your friend move? Always help friends pack their belongings and load the truck when they are moving. When people are loading their households into boxes, they usually find items that they no longer need or do not want to pack or unpack.
Passage A
Being fit and healthy doesn’t mean you have to work out for hours a day and eat nothing but chicken and vegetables for every meal. ____1____ The following are some of them.
You always complain you are too busy to go to the gym or to prepare a healthy meal. ____2____ You should start to put your health and fitness in the first place today. You can work out in the park and cook your favourite food after work. What you should do first is stop making excuses all the time.
You should walk more instead of driving a car when going out. The key to lifelong fitness is to simply be more active and walk more every day. Try your best to walk whenever and wherever you can —to the superstore, to the office, or go for an after-dinner walk with your family. ____3____
Instead of always going to the movies or watching TV, you should take part in activities that keep you moving. You can go for a bike ride, go on a hike, or go to play sports with your family and friends, such as ping-pong and basketball. ____4___ Not only will you get moving, but also you will have fun.
____5____ Many people underestimate the importance of a good night’s rest, but having a good rest each night is important for your health. Therefore, try to sleep seven to eight hours a night on a regular basis.
A. The list is endless.
B. Find ways to be close to nature.
C. Enough sleep is especially important.
D. Of course it’s not always possible to go to the gym.
E. However, for your health, you have to make a change.
F. In short, take every chance to walk as much as you can.
G. Actually, there are many good habits that will help you keep in shape.
Passage B
Anger is the most destructive emotion. When you are in a temper, you make hasty ill-considered decisions that you will probably regret. You will also regret reckless language spoken without thought. 6 Here are some ways that you can combat the causes of anger.
7 You have to accept that sometimes things do go wrong and that people are not always lovely. Try to accept that other people do behave in ways that will make you both frustrated and angry. Often, there might be an excellent reason why a person acted in away that you found unacceptable.
Realizing that no one is perfect is a good start to avoiding getting angry. 8 Neither will they behave in the same way that you would in a given situation.
Reacting angrily is a hard habit to break. The trick is to avoid reacting when faced with a situation that usually angers. Anger is a negative reaction, but in this type of situation, there is no value in reacting by forming positive thoughts. 9 This way, your anger will not get the emotional food it needs to survive.
Don’t take the easy way when you get angry. We all get tempted to throw something, hit something, or scream when we are angry. You might say you feel better after an angry outburst, but that is just the after-effect of the adrenalin (肾上腺素) your body released while you were angry. A reaction like that is the easy way. It is much harder to stay calm, to walk away from conflict, or to take a deep breath and act normally. 10 .
A.Stop trying to manage your anger.
B.What can be done to control anger?
C.You need to learn not to respond at all.
D.That, however, is what you must do if you are to stop anger.
E.You need to change your attitude to the way the world works.
F.Taking positive steps will help you overcome feelings of anger.
G.Also, you need to accept that not everyone has the same standards as you.

B. Postcards are small and easy to carry.
C. I once sent a nice autumn leaf as a postcard.
D. Was it from one of my father’s work trips?
E. Postcards also encourage us to travel more.
1.空前“I don’t actually remember the first postcard I ever received, or even the first time I sent one.(我不记得我收到 第一张明信片是什么时候,甚至不记得我第一次寄明信片是什么时候。)”说明作者已经不记得收到的第一张明信片是什么时候,空后“Or was it from my aunt who always seemed to be in faraway places?(还是我那似乎总是在很远地方的姨妈寄来的?)”是作者的一个猜测,空格处应该也是一个猜测,句式上应该和空后的句子相似,D选项“Was it from one of my father’s work trips?(是我父亲出差时寄来的吗?)”
2.空前“You’re traveling around the green hills of Scotland or crossing Texas on a road trip and you don’t want to carry much, right?(你在苏格兰的绿色山丘上旅行,或者在公路旅行中穿越德克萨斯州,你不想带太多东西,对吧?)”
Passage B
One of the earliest kinds of art was rock art, which can be found in many different countries in Africa. 3 The rocks in Botswana's Tsodilo Hills are decorated (装饰) with rock art. B.Ancient people were afraid of the two large animals.
C.There is also a painting of a red giraffe right next to the rhino.
D.These drawings provide information about what life was like in the past.
E.The Rhino Cave shows the two cultural groups had lived in Tsodilo Hills.
F.In Botswana there are over 4,500 rock paintings from thousands of years ago.
D项中的These drawings指代本空前的drawings,in the past与本空前的for more than 100,000 years和During this time相照应。
Passage C
Being a teenager is not easy. 5 . We tend to impose (强加) our own ideas on others, hoping that others should be thinking the same. We often forget to think in others’ shoes. D.Be quiet while listening
E.Both will end up as losers
F.All of us are unwilling to lose
G.We often think that “our way” is the best
5. G。根据下文“We tend to impose our own ideas on others, hoping that others should be thinking the same.(我们倾向于把自己的想法强加给别人,希望别人也能有同样的想法。)”

If you are looking for apart-time job, fill out applications at shops where you often do your shopping.(接受一份有折扣的工作是个好主意。 F选项“For example, clothing shops may give their employees a discount.( 例如,服装店可能会给他们的员工打折。)”
10.根据前文“As a result, you can bring home hundreds of pounds worth of frozen food, tableware, books, toys, furniture(家具) and other household items.( 因此,你可以把价值数百英镑的冷冻食品、餐具、书籍、玩具、家具和其他家居用品带回家。)” E选项“Best of all they will still think you’ve done them a favour.(最好的是,他们仍然会认为你帮了他们一个忙。)”

Passage A
Being fit and healthy doesn’t mean you have to work out for hours a day and eat nothing but chicken and vegetables for every meal.

G. Actually, there are many good habits that will help you keep in shape.
1. 根据上文“Being fit and healthy doesn’t mean you have to work out for hours a day and eat nothing but chicken and vegetables for every meal. (身体健康并不意味着你必须每天锻炼几个小时,每顿饭只吃鸡肉和蔬菜。)”和下文“The following are some of them. (以下是其中的一些。)”可知,文章接下来要介绍一些保持健康的方法。选项G“事实上,有很多好习惯可以帮助你保持健康。”和上下文意思一致。故选G。
2. 根据上文“You always complain you are too busy to go to the gym or to prepare a healthy meal. (你总是抱怨自己太忙了,没有时间去健身房或准备健康的饭菜。)”和下文“You should start to put your health and fitness in the first place today. You can work out in the park and cook your favourite food after work. What you should do first is stop making excuses all the time. (你今天应该开始把你的健康放在首位。你可以在公园锻炼,下班后做你最喜欢的食物。你首先应该做的是不要总是找借口。)”可知,为了健康,要做出改变。选项E“然而,为了你的健康,你必须做出改变。”和上下文意思一致。故选E。
3. 根据上文“Try your best to walk whenever and wherever you can —to the superstore, to the office, or go for an after-dinner walk with your family. (无论何时何地,尽你最大的努力去散步——去超市、办公室,或者晚饭后和家人一起散步。)”可知,这里建议尽一切可能去散步。选项F“简言之,抓住每一个机会,尽可能多地走路。”和上文意思一致。故选F。
4. 根据上文“Instead of always going to the movies or watching TV, you should take part in activities that keep you moving. You can go for a bike ride, go on a hike, or go to play sports with your family and friends, such as ping-pong and basketball. (与其总是去看电影或看电视,你应该参加一些能让你保持活力的活动。你可以骑自行车,徒步旅行,或者和家人和朋友一起运动,比如乒乓球和篮球。)”可知,这里是在列举一些锻炼身体的活动。选项A“清单是无穷无尽的。”和上文意思一致。故选A。
5. 根据下文“Many people underestimate the importance of a good night’s rest, but having a good rest each night is important for your health. Therefore, try to sleep seven to eight hours a night on a regular basis. (许多人低估了晚上好好休息的重要性,但每晚好好休息对你的健康很重要。因此,尽量有规律地每晚睡七到八个小时。)”可知,这一段强调睡眠的重要性。选项C“充足的睡眠尤为重要。”和下文意思一致。故选C。
6.根据上文“Anger is the most destructive emotion. When you are in a temper, you make hasty ill-considered decisions that you will probably regret. You will also regret reckless language spoken without thought.(愤怒是最具破坏性的情绪。当你脾气不好的时候,你会草率地做出你可能会后悔的决定。你也会后悔不经思考就说出鲁莽的语言)”以及后文“Here are some ways that you can combat the causes of anger.(这里有一些方法可以帮助你克服愤怒的根源)”可知,空处应是过渡句,由生气的坏处过渡到如何克服愤怒,所以B项“What can be done to control anger?(怎样才能控制愤怒呢?)”
7.分析设空,位于段首,是本段的中心句,所以根据后文“You have to accept that sometimes things do go wrong and that people are not always lovely. Try to accept that other people do behave in ways that will make you both frustrated and angry. Often, there might be an excellent reason why a person acted in away that you found unacceptable.(你必须接受有时事情会出错,人们并不总是可爱的。试着接受别人的行为方式会让你既沮丧又生气。通常,可能会有一个很好的理由来解释为什么一个人的行为让你无法接受)”可知,本段主要讲述了你需要改变你对世界运作方式的态度,所以E项“You need to change your attitude to the way the world works.(你需要改变你对世界运作方式的态度)”符合文意。故选E项。
8.根据前文“Realizing that no one is perfect is a good start to avoiding getting angry.(意识到人无完人是避免生气的好开始)”以及后文“Neither will they behave in the same way that you would in a given situation.(他们的行为也不会和你在特定情况下的行为一样)”可知,本段主要讲述了,不要用自己的标准去看待他人,所以G项“Also, you need to accept that not everyone has the same standards as you.(此外,你需要接受并不是每个人都有和你一样的标准)”符合本段主题。故选G项。
9.根据前文“Reacting angrily is a hard habit to break. The trick is to avoid reacting when faced with a situation that usually angers. Anger is a negative reaction, but in this type of situation, there is no value in reacting by forming positive thoughts.(愤怒是一个很难改掉的习惯。诀窍是在面对通常令人愤怒的情况时避免做出反应。愤怒是一种消极的反应,但在这种情况下,形成积极的想法是没有价值的)”可知,本段主要讲述了不要在愤怒的情况下做出反应,所以C项“You need to learn not to respond at all.(你要学会完全不回应)”符合本段主题。故选C项。
10.分析设空,位于段尾,是对前文的总结,根据前文“Don’t take the easy way when you get angry. We all get tempted to throw something, hit something, or scream when we are angry. You might say you feel better after an angry outburst, but that is just the after-effect of the adrenalin (肾上腺素) your body released while you were angry. A reaction like that is the easy way. It is much harder to stay calm, to walk away from conflict, or to take a deep breath and act normally.(当你生气的时候,不要轻易就范。当我们生气的时候,我们都会想要扔东西,打东西,或者尖叫。你可能会说你在生气后感觉好多了,但那只是你生气时身体释放的肾上腺素的后遗症。这样的反应很简单。要想保持冷静,远离冲突,或者深呼吸,正常行事,都要困难得多)”可知,D项“That, however, is what you must do if you are to stop anger.(然而,如果你要停止愤怒,那就是你必须做的)”符合文意,和前文构成转折关系,总结前文。故选D项。
