But the love for soccer is still very much alive and well in Zibo, Shandong Province. Zibo is called "the home of soccer ball". It's the birthplace of the ancient Chinese sport of cuju. In 2004, cuju won the recognition of FIFA—soccer's governing body—as the earliest form of soccer. The Chinese character cu means to kick. Ju means an ancient type of leather ball. It has feathers (羽毛) or grain chaff(谷糠) inside. The ancient Chinese historical text Zhan Guo Ce says cuju was a form of amusement among common people. But during the Han Dynasty, soldiers played cuju for army training. During the Tang Dynasty, women played cuju at the royal court (朝廷) for the amusement of the emperors. It entered the golden age in the Song Dynasty when it became popular among every class. Yet, the 2,000-year-old game slowly got out of people's lives during the Ming Dynasty. Li Weipeng, 34, from Linzi district of Zibo city, is a seventh-generation inheritor (传承 人) of cuju. He has been practicing cuju skills for 18 years. Mastering different cuju skills is not easy. "At the beginning, I spent eight hours a day practicing juggling (颠球) a ball. It was tiring," Li told China Daily. He now can juggle a ball with his foot over 10,000 times in a row. Teaching students cuju moves is a part of Li's job. The traditional Chinese sport cuju is now popular at primary and middle schools in Linzi. "Students show great interest in playing cuju. When she finished her picture, Susan began playing with her brushwhich was still wet. Suddenly, She dropped the brush right on the picture! There in the middle of her picture was a blob (污点)of brown paint! “Oh Dad! What will I do?” Susan cried. “My picture is ruined. And it’s too late to paint another.” “ Let me see,” said her father. “The blob looks just like a spot on a dog. All you have to do is to draw a dog around the spot!” “That’s a wonderful ideal!” cried Susan. She drew a dog around the blob of brown paint “That looks just fine. You know, few things are as bad as they seem at first. With a little imagination you can turn bad into good.” said Susan’s father. The next day Susan went to school early. It was Susan’s! “The stairs are straight.” said Joe. “Yes and the brown paint shows up well on the white paper.” said Lucy. “The little dog seems to belong there.” said Terry. The children voted and Susan’s painting won. “Susan had a good idea,” Mr. King said. “That little dog finished a good painting. It made the stairs seem real.” Susan smiled. What's the first thing you would do with it? Maybe send it into battle, or use it to spy(窥探) your neighbors? Well this is not just a fantasy anymore. Drones(无人机) are remote-controlled flying robots, and they are getting more popular every day. But is this a good thing for society? The popularity of drones has exploded in recent years as technology has improved and gotten cheaper. A standard drone with a high-quality camera and four helicopter propellers now sells online for just a few hundred US dollars. Drones are extremely useful for making videos because their cameras link directly to phones or tablets. Nowadays, anyone can get professional-looking fly-by shot from unique angles. But could this cause problems? Because drones are so affordable, it means that anyone can send a robot flying around the neighborhood. People might be surprised to find a camera floating outside their window. This should be a huge concern for people who care about their privacy. Many governments also invest in drones, but for very different reasons. Some country uses military (军事的) drones for spying. Its most powerful drones, however, are predator drones, which can fly higher than 15. 000 meters at over 300 kilometers per hour. And no, they don't just take pretty videos. A predator drone can hold 360 kilograms of bombs, enough to completely destroy an enemy camp. The soldier controlling the drone sits safely away from the action, so it's impossible to know for sure who is getting killed. Innocent people might be in danger. Drones are very new technology and people are still exploring their possible uses. Maybe someday you'll come up with a new cool way to use your own remote-controlled robot. 71. What’s the function of the first paragraph? A. To introduce the topic. B. To express the writer’s opinion. C. To state the facts about the drones. D. To indicate the advantages of a flying robot. 72. They can be used for both photography and military purposes. 74. What is the function of the underlined sentence in paragraph 4? A. It suggests what military drones will do in the future. B. It gives an example of what military drones cannot do. C. It intends to compare military drones and common drones. D. It describes a similarity between military drones and common drones. 75. What is the main idea of the article? A. Using drones can cause confusion to users. B. Using drones is a great way to improve videos. C. Drones have both positive and negative effects. D. A. on the school website B. in a diary C. in a storybook D. in a notice B When I was a girl growing up, I cannot once ever remember either my mum or my grandma wasting food. Anything we didn’t eat at one meal was leftovers (剩莱). I can remember my grandma making a huge pot of potatoes. We would all eat until we were full enough, but there were always about half of the potatoes left over. A few days later, Grandma would take those potatoes out of the fridge, boil some noodles, add some vegetables and mix them all together. And I also remember when I watched my mum fry bacon for us in the mornings, she would always take the oil carefully and pour it into a bottle. Then she would use it later to add flavor to so many other dishes. I was an adult before I realized that potatoes didn’t actually taste like bacon! I learned their lessons well, and after I grew up, I tried to never waste food myself. I always planned the week’s meals ahead of time and only bought what was on my shopping list so that nothing went to waste. Every meal went into our stomachs and any leftovers were later eaten by either myself, my boys, my husband or my dogs. To me, throwing food into the bin was just wrong. However, when it comes to living, there are no leftovers. Life is just like a feast. Each moment that you don’t live is lost forever. Life cannot be saved or stored. Each day is a fresh beginning. Live each moment of your life to the fullest, then. 66. What did the writer’s grandma usually do with the leftover potatoes? A. She would use them to fry bacon. B. She would get some oil from them. Because she cooked potatoes with the oil from frying bacon. 68. According to the passage, how did the writer save food? A. By shopping ahead of time. B. By selling leftovers to others. C. By planning the next week’s food. D. By following her mother’s shopping list. 69、What does the underlined word “ feast ” in the last paragraph probably mean? A. Large meal. B. Sweet dream. C. Happy story. D. Beautiful picture. 70. What can we learn from the last two paragraphs? A. It is never too old to learn. B. Eat to live, but not live to eat. C. Neither food nor life should be wasted. D. There is no such thing as a free lunch. C In recent years, there have been many films about robots trying to take over the world. Studies show that up to 20 million factory jobs worldwide could be taken by robots in the next 10 years. Some people are worried about what might happen in the future. On 8th September, 2020, The Guardian published an article written by a robot called GPT-3. It wrote that “ robot ”comes from the Greek word for “ slave ” (奴隶) and humans have nothing to fear from robots, which are only here to help humans. However, the fact that a robot could write such an article has made some people feel even more uneasy. Where is the robot technology heading? Can robots and humans work together? ( YES — they ’ re here to help humans Robots are created by humans for humans. Robots take on jobs that are too dangerous for people to do by themselves. Although robots might take some people’s jobs, they will create new types of work, and they will possibly create more jobs than they take away. Besides, robots’ programming could actually make them more trustworthy than humans, because they are not influenced by feelings. ) ( NO — humans should not trust robots Robots are already taking over the world. Jobs that used to be done by human beings are now being taken by robots. Although robots are under our control now, that might not always be the case . An experiment in Switzerland found that some robots had learnt how to lie to each other. With the development of AI, robots could start to act in their own interests. Wherever possible, humans should do things themselves. ) What’s your opinion on this matter? 71. According to the article by GPT-3, the word “ robot ” comes from ______ . A. Greek B. English C. German D. French 72. When learning that GPT-3 could write an article, some people feel ______ . A. proud B. nervous C. excited D. relaxed 73. What advantage of robots is mentioned in the text? A. Creating all kinds of work. B. Developing filming technology. C. Working with different feelings. D. Doing dangerous work for humans. 74. What does the underlined part mean? A. Human beings will be replaced by robots. B. Humans should act in their own interests. C. Robots are likely to be out of our control. D. Some robots have learnt to lie to each other. 75. He lived with them and had a room upstairs at the back of the house. He was not among the people in the crowd. "Alan!" his wife shouted. "He's asleep upstairs! He probably went to bed and left the fire on in the front room!" Her husband began to push his way through the crowd towards the front door. "Don't be a fool!" someone shouted. “Wait for the firemen. Old Mr. Cox was sleeping peacefully. “What's the matter?" he cried as he woke up. "Nothing to worry about. Just a small fire downstairs," Alan told him. “Now, get a coat on and put a handkerchief over your face like this." At the top of the stairs Alan made old Mr. Cox climb onto his back. Then he put a handkerchief over his own face and went down the stairs as quickly as he could. There was a cheer from the crowd as he came out of the house. The fire engine and an ambulance arrived more or less at that moment. The first flames were just beginning to come out of the front window. Farmers living in the countryside think so. For hundreds of year, they have observed animals and noticed many things about the way animals act. For example, some farmers believe that if they see swans flying into the wind, a hurricane is coming. Or, when cows lie down, a rainstorm is coming. There are many traditional stories connecting animals and natural events. Some scientists are taking another look at animals to see if there is any truth behind these stories and beliefs. They have found some surprising things. Kiyoshi Shimamura is a Japanese earthquake researcher. He noticed an increase in dog bites a short time before earthquakes hit. Then, he did an investigation of twelve public heath centers in Kobe, Japan. These heath centers treated people after a big earthquake. Shimamura noticed that the month before the big earthquake, treatment for animal bites had increased. In fact. aggressive(有攻击性的)behavior in dogs, such as biting and baking loudly, jumped 60 percent! Other animals change their behavior before an earthquake as well. For example, fish in ponds or lakes begin swimming together in large groups only in the middle of the water and not near the edges. Also, birds may fly away from their nests for many days, leaving their eggs unprotected. These behaviors suggest that animals may be able to predict natural events, such as earthquakes, better than people. 71. If cows lie down, some farmers, believe that_______ A. a hurricane is approaching B. there is likely to be a rainstorm C. an earthquake is happening D. there is going to be a heavy snow 72. His book The Travel Notes of Xu Xiake, not only encouraged a love of travelling among Chinese people but also provided important scientific information about the country’s land and geography. Born into a wealthy Jiangyin family, Xu became interested in books about different places at an early age and wanted to travel. When he was 18, however, Xu’s father died and so, it seemed, did his travelling dreams. He now was responsible for the family farm and taking care of his 60-year-old mother as tradition required. But his mother had different ideas. Understanding her son’s love of travel and valuing the knowledge he could get from such experiences, she refused to keep her son at home. She agreed that Xu could travel for three months every year, when there was less farm work. So at the age of twenty and with his mother’s support, Xu set off for the first time, leaving behind not only his mother but his new wife as well. He would repeat this goodbye each year for most of the next 30 years. During this time, he travelled throughout the Ming kingdom, carefully studying the lands he passed through and recording his experiences and many discoveries in a diary. This diary, which once had over 500,000 words, would eventually become The Travel Notes of Xu Xiake. Although rich, Xu avoided comfortable travel, preferring to go almost everywhere on foot. This way he could research the environment in detail and get a true picture of the natural world. Many of his trips were to hard-to-reach mountain areas, and through wild forests where few people lived. His willingness to face hardships came at a cost however. Progress was slow and tiring and he was frequently sick, robbed and beaten during his journeys. Sadly Xu became seriously ill during his last and longest journey, a 4-year trip through the southwest of China. He died in 1641, soon after returning to his hometown for the last time. When his diary was finally printed years after his death, much of it had been destroyed or lost. Although incomplete, it sill made Xu a travelling legend around the world. 66. C While the start of a new school year is always exciting, this year was even more so for some students at White Cloud Primary School. They became the world’s first kids to be “taught” by an electronic teacher. This electronic teacher is not a human-like robot walking around the classroom. Instead, he is a computer-created head that appears, when needed, on students' computer or phone screens. His name is Bill. Created by technology company Smart Machines. Bill is able to show human-like behavior. He is designed to teach a special program about environmental-friendly power created by the sun and wind. This program, started in 2005, used to be taught by human teachers. Just like human teachers, Bill is able to immediately respond to the students’ questions and opinions about the topic. Thanks to computer cameras, he is also able to see and react to students’ physical actions. For example, if a student smiles at Bill, he responds by smiling back. This two-way exchange helps get the students’ attention. More importantly, it allows the program developers to improve Bill’s behavior and knowledge base when needed. The program has been a great success, according to Smart Machines spokesman Robert Frost says, “What is interesting to me is the children’s reaction to Bill. He really captures their attention.” Frost thinks kids don’t find the experience of being taught by smart machines as strange as older people do because they have grown up in a time of computers and smart phones. It is doubtful, however, that human educators will lose their jobs to Bill any time soon. For one, this talking head’s knowledge base is not large. More importantly, even the smartest computer programs can’t guess and react to all the unexpected situations that educators face daily Bill’s future might be a “personal tutor”, providing kids with one-on-one help for different subjects and topics. 71.What do we know about Bill? A. It’s a human-like robot. B. It’s a kind of computer game. C. It’s a computer recording tool. D. It’s a computer-created talking head. 72. How does the two-way exchange help the program developers? A. It enables them to improve Bill. B. It lets them correct students’ mistakes. C. It allows Bill to respond more quickly. D. It helps them study students’ body language. 73. The underlined word “they” in Paragraph 4 refers to_______. A. kids B. older people C. smart machines D. program developers 74. Bill is NOT good at ________. A. attracting students’ attention B. understanding body language C. responding to students’ questions D. dealing with unexpected situations 75. How might Bill be used in the future according to the last paragraph? A. To work as human classroom teachers. B. To encourage students’ interest in computers. C. To give students personal help with different subjects. D. To monitor the behavior of the students in the classroom. (2019年·湖南对口真题) A Come on! Get in Style! They have developed special chickens that lay eggs with drugs inside. These special drugs can help treat some kinds of diseases. Until now, they have made two kinds of drugs. One drug can treat skin cancer and the other can treat a nerve disease(神经性疾病). Certain drugs are produced by the special chickens inside their egg whites. These drugs are made of proteins(蛋白质)which can be found in animals’ skin, hair, milk and meat. The scientists also use DNA technology to make sure that the drugs are only inside the egg whites. In this way, the chickens can stay healthy. Besides egg whites, drugs made of proteins come in milk of cows and sheep. Compared with cows and sheep, the special chickens have ascendancy over them. First, they are cheaper to raise. Second, they need less room and grow faster. These special chicken can pass on their drug-producing ability to their children. So far, five generations of the special chickens have appeared. But scientists may need more time to make the drugs perfect. It’s said that scientists will realize their dream in five to ten years. 66. The special drugs in chicken eggs can now be used to treat _______. It isn’t going to fall down on the house!” “Well, I read something in the paper only the other day,”he said.“A tree crashed into a woman’s bedroom during a storm and now she’s in hospital!” In the end, after several arguments of this kind, we asked a couple of workmen to come along and cut the tree down. “What about the roots?” the men asked. “Shall we take them out too or leave them?” “Oh, take them out,” I said. “Let’s make a good job of it!” This took all afternoon and I was beginning to think about the size of the bill! There was a big hole in the Garden! “You’ll be able to put all your old rubbish in there!” the men said as they left. My husband climbed down into the hole and began to look around. “Hey, look!” he called up to me. “There are some old coins here! And I think they’re gold!” I climbed down into the hole and we started to dig around, hoping to find some more coins. We did — and we also find a small metal box. We broke it open. It was full of jewelry — rings, necklaces and bracelets! “Gosh!”I said, “I suppose someone hid these things in the ground — perhaps during a war!” “They are probably worth a small fortune!”my husband said. “Well, aren’t you glad now that you got rid of the old tree?” 71. Could you please sign this note?" he said. The note showed that he had been talking during reading time. He gets a "red flag" only once in a while. His real worry is that he never gets top scores in his schoolwork. The best he gets is "OK", but often his score is "You can do better than this." My mum tells me "You can do better than this" would mean "Very bad" in China.       It's interesting, though, because teachers for little kids in America never say anything too bad about their students; even if the students are making trouble in class or not working hard enough. The worst they might say is "Please be nicer tomorrow." Many parents are pleased with a B-grade for each subject.       I've heard that things are different in Chinese schools. Expectations (期望) are very high for students. Even from first grade, homework was quite a lot for my relatives in Nanjing. I sometimes felt that my first-grade Chinese cousin spent more time on homework than I did when I was a 6th grader in the US ( this is the same as the 6th grade in China )! Yet his parents and school thought he was a bad student. But to me, he was smart, even though he didn't meet his parents' expectations. Do you think it's too strict in China? Or do you think that it's not strict enough in America? Maybe both are true! 66. The writer's little brother got a red flag yesterday because he _____. A. did something good B. worked hard enough C. got top scores D. made trouble in class 67. When students get "OK", it means they get ________ scores in their schoolwork. A detailed introduction to clowns. 66.答案:C 解析:原文中的“taking heed of”意为“注意到,留心”。我们需要找到一个能够表达相同意思的短语来替换它。A选项“Looking up to”意为“尊敬,仰慕”;B选项“Making up for”意为“弥补,补偿”;C选项“Paying attention to”意为“注意,留心”;D选项“Getting away from”意为“远离”。根据句意,只有C选项与原文中的“taking heed of”意思相近,因此C是正确答案。 67.答案:C 解析:原文中提到“Healthcare clowns bring moments of happiness to children who are ill or who have special needs and take their mind off their illness...”,说明医疗小丑能够给病人带来快乐,让他们暂时忘记病痛。因此,医院雇佣小丑的原因是他们能够让人快乐,选项C“they make people happy”是正确答案。 68.答案:B 解析:原文中提到莉亚·魏斯(Leah Weiss)决定利用自己的小丑身份来帮助患者,减轻他们的焦虑并改善他们的福祉。这表明她是一个有爱心、愿意帮助他人的人,因此选项B“She is a loving person.”是正确的。A选项“She is seriously ill.”(她病得很重)在原文中没有提及;C选项“She has special needs.”(她有特殊需求)与原文不符;D选项“She has a bachelor's degree.”(她有学士学位)虽然可能在现实中是真的,但原文并未提及她的学历。 69.答案:C 解析:原文中提到医疗小丑能够给患者带来欢乐,减轻他们的焦虑并改善他们的福祉,这都有助于患者的康复。因此,医院里有小丑的好处是帮助患者康复,选项C“It helps with patients' recovery.”是正确答案。A选项“It reduces medical expenses.”(它降低了医疗费用)和B选项“It makes hospitals organized.”(它使医院更有组织性)在原文中并未提及;D选项“It decreases the anxiety of doctors.”(它减轻了医生的焦虑)虽然可能间接存在,但原文主要强调的是对患者的好处。 70.答案:A 解析:整篇文章主要介绍了医疗小丑这一新的治疗方式,包括他们的作用、在以色列的流行情况以及莉亚·魏斯的个人案例。因此,文章主要讲述的是一种新的治疗方法,选项A“A new care treatment.” C The FIFA World Cup came to an end in December 2022. It encourages me to promote the ancient sport," Li said. 71. Why is Zibo called "the home of soccer ball"? A. Because cuju was born there. B. Because people there love soccer. C. Because there is a branch of FIFA. D. Because modern soccer began there. 72. What is the main idea of Paragraph 2? A. The way of making cuju. B. The development of cuju. C. The value of cuju to the world. D. The popularity of cuju among the Chinese. 73. In the Ming Dynasty, cuju_______. A. was used to train soldiers B. was enjoyed by the emperors C. became popular among women D. slowly disappeared in people's lives 74. Which of the following is true about Li Weipeng? A. He is the only inheritor of cuju. B. He thinks it easy to learn cuju skills. C. He now practises cuju eight hours a day. D. He passes down cuju skills to the younger generation. 75. What the best title for the passage? A. Zibo—a city of soccer fans B. Cuju—its yesterday and today C. Soccer—a popular sport in China D. Li Weipeng—a devoted instructor of cuju 71.答案:A 解析:题目问为什么淄博被称为“足球之乡”。根据第一段中的“Zibo is called 'the home of soccer ball'. It's the birthplace of the ancient Chinese sport of cuju.” 根据第二段最后一句“Yet, the 2,000-year-old game slowly got out of people's lives during the Ming Dynasty.”可知,在明代,这项拥有2000多年历史的运动逐渐淡出了人们的生活。因此,答案为D。 74.答案:D 解析:题目问关于李伟鹏的哪个选项是正确的。根据第三段中的“Teaching students cuju moves is a part of Li's job.”可知,李伟鹏的工作之一是教学生蹴鞠的动作,即他将蹴鞠技能传授给了年轻一代。因此,答案为D。其他选项A(他是唯一的蹴鞠传承人)、B(他认为学习蹴鞠技能很容易)、C(他现在每天练习蹴鞠八小时)在文中均未提及或错误。 75.答案:B 解析:题目问文章的最佳标题是什么。文章主要介绍了蹴鞠这一古代中国足球运动的历史、发展以及现代传承情况,特别是通过李伟鹏这一现代传承人的故事来展现。因此,最佳标题应该是能够概括文章主旨的,即“Cuju—its yesterday and today”(蹴鞠——它的昨天和今天),答案为B。其他选项A(淄博——一个足球迷的城市)、C(足球——中国的一项流行运动)、D(李伟鹏——一位蹴鞠的忠实教练)都不能全面概括文章的主旨。 ( 1 )原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究! 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 (2023年·湖南对口真题) 第一节 选择(本节共15个小题,每小题1分,共15分) 阅读下列短文,从各题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项,并将答案填涂在答题卡上。 A Create Your Own Story Competition If you love to write, draw and create stories, here’s your chance! It’s for a competition in school tomorrow.” “Do you need any help?” her father asked. “It’s almost time for bed.” “I’ll be quick,” said Susan. “I wonder what color to use.” “Well, our stairs are brown.” said her father. “Thanks, Dad.” said Susan. When the competition began, Mr. King said, “I’ve chosen three pictures and I want you to say which one you like best.” The children did not like the first one. The next picture was on black paper, but the stairs were red. So it was not so good. Then Mr. King showed the third painting. 72. What does the underline word “ exploded” in paragraph2 probably mean? A. Broken. B. Disappeared. C. Blown up. D. Increased. 73. What is most likely true about drones you can buy online? A. The most expensive ones are priced too high. B. They can be used to secretly take pictures of people. C. They are useful for making videos from fixed angles. D. D. Drones are expensive, but really exciting to play with. C 71. 本句的主语是The popularity of drones,且根据第 1段倒数第2句“ … and they are getting more popular every day.” A Website: www.alleynes.org.uk Alleyn’s School Townley Road, Dulwich, UK office@www.aleynes.org.uk Welcome to Alleyn’s School. C. She would make potato pies with them. D. She would put them in the fridge and eat them later. 67. Why did the potatoes cooked by the writer’s mum taste like bacon? A. Because she was good at cooking bacon. B. Because she mixed the bacon with potatoes. C. Because she put potatoes into the bacon containers. D. B 66. 【答案】D 【解析】根据第二段的第四句可知,答案为D。 67. 【答案】D 【解析】推理判断题。根据第二段的第五六行“妈妈把烤肉剩下的油倒进瓶子,后又把它 用来做很多其他的菜”,可推断妈妈用烤肉后的油煮了土豆。答案为D。 68. 【答案】C 【解析】细节理解题。根据第三段第二行“…planned next week's meals ahead of time.” 可 知,答案为C。 69. 【答案】A 【解析】词义猜测题。前句说“生活中是没有剩菜的”。这说明作者把生活比作了一顿大 餐。答案为A。 70. 【答案】C 【解析】主旨大意题。最后两段作者先讲到了自己继承了节约的好传统,后联系到人生, 倡导我们要生活得充实。答案为C。 C In recent years, there have been many films about robots trying to take over the world. A.
