Do you know anything about idioms? As English becomes 1 wildly used language in the world, all of us have to learn it very well. But sometimes we find it hard to know the meaning of the idioms. An idiom is a phrase that we can't understand from the meaning of 2 word. For example, if a boy asks his mum 3 is for dinner, his mum may say she will play it by ear. It means that she doesn't have any plans for dinner and she 4 it later.
“Play it by ear” used to mean playing music without using the music sheet, 5 now people often use it when they're not talking about music!
There are 6 idioms in English. Your English will be much more vivid(生动的) and beautiful 7 you learn to use them.
8 the early 1930s, people in the US often didn't know when or where their next meal was.So as soon as they got something to eat they would put it into their mouths. That was how people began to use 9 idiom “living from hand to mouth” to mean “living a poor life”.
10 be angry if your friends says to you, “Break a leg in your game!” He is wishing you good luck! Aren't English idioms interesting? And break a leg in your next exam!

With no hands on the wheel or feet on the pedals, a white Volvo runs in the streets of Shanghai free of human control. The computer system quickly processes information collected by a fastspinning sensor(传感器) at the top of the vehicle, calculating how many pedestrians(行人) are nearby and predicting which lane the car in front will go into.
This unmanned car is among the first selfdrivingtaxis-or robotaxis-allowed to carry passengers on the open roads of Shanghai. It's part of a pilot program from Didi Chuxing. Users of Didi's app aged 18 to 70 have been able to sign up(报名) for a free test drive.
Didi spokesperson said, “over 10,000 people have requested test drives. The line is pretty long, and people will have to wait for a few days before their turn comes up.”
Recently, Didi's robotaxi service includes a human driver at the wheel, ready to take over in unexpected situations. The robotaxis are equipped with cameras and sensors, which allow them to “see” nearby traffic, as well as monitor a common vehicle's blind spots.
The cars all follow the same way: a 6kilometer circle from the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center to a nearby hotel. But the company plans to gradually bring this service to a larger area in Jiading, where Shanghai's main autonomous driving(自动驾驶) area is located. The traffic conditions there are very good, with few cars and pedestrians on the road.
“That was an interesting experience, but also kind of halfbaked. Robotaxis need to be further developed to make sure their safety,” Wu You, a Jiading local who took part in the test drive service said.
