To be a helper of my family
I often do housework at home, such as making the bed, washing the dishes, doing some washing, looking after my younger sister and so on.
Last Friday, the evening fell, but my parents didn’t come back home yet. I stopped doing my homework and decided to make a meal for my family instead of just waiting. It was my first cooking. I searched on the Internet to learn how to do homely dishes. With the step-by-step directions, I managed to make my first dish. Then I tried to cook another. When my parents came back home, they couldn’t believe their eyes to see the dishes made by me. My parents were satisfied with me.

Disney has made many cartoon movies. The princesses (公主们) are often girls’ favorites. However, have you noticed that Disney princesses are changing?
In the early Disney cartoon movies, princesses like Snow White, Cinderella are usually good-looking and kind-hearted. But they depend on others to get out of trouble and find happiness. They end up living happily with their princes.
But now more girls know they have to fight for their own happiness. Disney has noticed the change. So the princesses in its newer movies don’t just have good looks.
Merida is a good example. She was a princess and she likes going on adventures. She spends her days practicing archery (射箭), riding her horse and experiencing the world. She loves her family, but she wants to create her own life.
Disney even put up their “new rules for being a modern princess”. The rules include: Care for others; Live healthily; Be honest; Be friendly; Believe in yourself; Try your best; Never give up.
None of the rules are about the looks of a princess. Anyway, one’s inner beauty is more valuable.
