How to make a DIY fan
The first step is to draw pictures on the paper. Just draw anything you
like. The next step is to fold up(折叠) the paper. Then glue the two pieces
of folded paper together. After that, paint the sticks. The final step is to glue
the sticks onto the folded paper. And everything is done.
If you look at your watch, you will be surprised because it takes less

When most of us get a text message(短信) on our cellphone from an
unknown person, we usually say “Sorry, wrong number!” and move
on. But when Dennis Williams received a text that clearly wasn’t for him,
he did something special.
On March 19, Dennis got a group text informing him that a couple he
didn’t know were at the hospital, waiting for the birth of a baby.

“Congratulations!” Dennis replied to this text although he thought
this was a mistake. The baby was born and new texts were coming in quickly
from the happy grandmother, Teresa. She didn’t seem to realize that she
was sharing the baby’s photos with a complete stranger. “Well, I don’t
know you all but I will get there to take pictures with the baby,” replied
Dennis before asking which room the new parents were in. Much to the
family’s surprise, Dennis kept his promise! He turned up at the hospital,
giving gifts to the new mother Lindsey and her baby boy. Lindsey’s
husband, Jackson, was totally shocked by the unexpected visit. “I don’t
think we would have this visit but we must say great thanks to Dennis.”

When you want to ask your teacher a question during class, what do
you do? Do you simply shout out your question as soon as it enters your
mind? Or do you raise your hand and wait until the teacher calls your
name?
一

If you politely raise your hand first, it’s probably because your teacher
has a rule that regulates(规定) what you are allowed to do when you have
a question. Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone can simply talk
whenever they want during class? Instead of a peaceful learning
environment, a classroom without rules would be chaotic(混乱的)!

When you learn to drive, you’ll realize how many rules you have to
follow. The rules for driving share a common purpose with many rules you
must follow in your daily life to keep you safe. As an ancient Chinese saying
goes, “No rules, no standards.” If you make a list of the rules you
follow each day, you will quickly realize how many of them can keep you
safe and make your life more enjoyable as a result.
Although sometimes you feel like a rule is unjust(不公平的), don’t
break it. Instead, decide what you can do to change the rule. Working within
the rules to change the rules is what you need to do.

Among the poets in history, who is called the immortal poet? Yes,
he is Li Bai. Many people think he is romantic and free, just like an
immortal. 36 Chang’an is a Chinese animated film which describes
well-known poets, making many people become more interested in
traditional culture. 37
In the movie, Li dreams about being an officer. 38 He cannot take
Keju because of his family. Later, he makes a mistake and is punished. He
has difficulties and problems just like everyone.

But his poems give us inspiration and confidence. When he enjoyed
nature, he said, “Its torrent dashed down three thousand feet from high.
As if the Silver River fell from the blue sky.” When he had a setback, he
said, “Heaven has made us talents and we are not made in vain. A
thousand gold coins spent, and more will turn up again.”
39 But it does not really matter, as long as his poems are here
with us. He is always the immortal in our hearts.
So far, this film has won a lot of praise with an average score of 8.3
out of 10 on Douban. 40

There is a big photo on the wall in my bedroom. In the photo,
there is a beautiful girl with a sunny smile. This is a special gift for me.
Two years ago, I moved to a new school. I didn’t have any
friends here, so I felt very lonely. One day, when I sat alone at the
desk as usual, a girl passed me, and she turned back, didn’t say any
words and just smiled. This smile changed my life. Soon, this girl
became my best friend. Before we graduated, she gave me some photos.
