Book 2 Unit 5 Education教学设计 单元主题 本单元主题语境是人与自我,涉及的主题语境内容是乐于学习、善于学习、终身学习;认识自我,丰富自我,完善自我。本单元呈现了教育的内涵和学习方法、讲述了海伦凯勒的学习经历、探讨了教育的目标、获取知识和理解的方法、介绍了玛利亚蒙特梭利以及她所倡导与推广的教育理念—蒙式教育、回顾英语学习方法和工具的不断变迁并展望未来发展趋势。帮助学生全面了解教育的重要性、意义和目标,掌握科学的学习方法,客观理性的对比分析自己的学习,运用多种手段提升自己的学习效果,更好的获取知识、增进理解。 单元目标 1. 语言能力目标 掌握并运用与教育相关的词汇和表达,描述教育的重要性以及对蒙氏教育的看法;听懂、获取并梳理教育的目标,回答相关的问题并加以运用;通过阅读,提炼获取知识、增进理解的方法和步骤,学习科学家们勇于挑战权威,不断追寻真理的精神;通过写作,学习如何描述图片,并分析其中蕴含的生活哲理。 2. 文化意识目标 学习并思索东西方在教育方面的共同点;了解西方的蒙氏教育理念,吸取学习其中的精髓,提升个人学习方法和效果。从海伦凯勒、培根、伽利略等名人的故事中树立积极的价值观,热爱学习钻研,勇于探究,不断追求真理。 3. 思维品质目标 在听力和阅读之后,可以通过思维导图的形式来概括、提炼听力文本和阅读文本的主要信息,进而培养学生的结构化思维方式和清晰的条理;通过观察描述图片,培养学生的观察能力以及创造性的思维品质,增强学生有条理地描述和表达的思维意识。 4. 学习能力目标 利用听力和口语中的对话,带动学生者进行同伴之间或小组内的模仿练习和角色扮演,培养学生的合作学习能力;通过视听说等各种渠道拓展学习方式,激发学习兴趣;通过阅读后对各种语言现象的思考和讨论,学会小组合作和探究式学习,提高学习的主动性;能够选择恰当的策略与方法,监控、评价、反思和调整自己的学习内容和进程。 Topic Talk板块教学设计 (建议时长40–45分钟,教师可根据教学实际酌情调整。) 课型 Listening + Speaking 主题语境 人与自我——乐于学习、善于学习、终身学习 内容分析 本部分包括两篇听力材料,第一篇听力材料为访谈,在对Professor Wilson的采访中,回顾了中西方的一些教育理念,教育的目标;第二篇听力材料的人物对话中,两个朋友谈论高效的学习方法及如何增强理解。该课作为本单元的起始课,起到了激活主题相关背景知识的作用,并为本单元后面的教学内容做了话题、词汇以及思维的铺垫。 教学目标 1. 通过听力材料1的练习,获取表达教育重要性和目标的词汇和句式。 2. 通过听力材料2的练习,感知不同的学习方式及效果。 3. 基于对听力材料2的理解,画出它的结构图,从而形成如何学习的结构化知识,达到最佳学习效果。 教学重点 1. 引导学生补充听力材料1,并画出听力材料2的知识结构图。 2. 学会边听材料内容,边记录材料中的重要信息。 教学难点 1. 引导学生描述教育的重要性和目标。 2. 引导学生分析自己常用的学习方法及效果。 教学策略 听说法 Teaching contents Procedures Purposes Teacher’s activity Students’ activity Words & expressions 1. T present pictures of school education. 2. T asks the Ss to use some words and expressions to describe the pictures. Ss look at the pictures and speak out the words and expressions that can be used to describe the picture. Help Ss recall the topic-related words and get Ss familiar with the new words and expressions which will be used in the lesson. Lead in Activity 1 T asks Ss the following questions: 1.How does education benefit you? 2.What’s the importance of education in social development? Ss think and answer the questions. 1. Shorten the distance between Ss and T; 2. Get Ss to know the topic of the new lesson. Lead in Activity 2 T presents pictures of two educational philosophers and give a brief introduction to them Ss look at the pictures, read the introduction and know the two educators. Get Ss prepared for the following listening practice. Listening 1 1. T presents the Test Builder, preparing students for listening. 2.asks students to fill in the blanks. 3.. Based on the Text Builder, T asks Ss to talk about education. 1. Ss read the Text Builder carefully. 2.Listen to the text carefully and underline the key information they hear. 3. Ss use the Text Builder to talk about their favorite art form. 1. Ss understand and catch the key information of the text. 2. Ss use the listening skill to help them underline information and organize it. 3. Help Ss apply the Text Builder to their own situation. Listening 2 T presents a table and a diagram, preparing Ss for the second listening material: 2. T asks Ss to listen to the dialogue and fill in the table and the diagram. 3.T ask Ss to tell their partners what these graphs show. 1.Ss listen to the material carefully and try to fill in the graphs. 2. Ss introduce the graphs to their partners. Get Ss to know more about how to learn better in the course of study. Explore further T invites Ss to discuss in groups the following questions: 1.What’s the importance and meaning of your school education? 2. What do you think is the most efficient way for you to learn better? Ss think and talk about their opinions. Ss reflect on the education they have received and how to learn more effectively. Review T ask Ss to deliver a speech to students in a rural school. Work in groups of four. Student A and B stresses the importance and aims of education; Student C and D shows how to learn better. Ss work in groups and deliver a speech together. Ss review what they have learnt in the class. Self-evaluation Teacher shows a self-evaluation table for Ss to reflect. Ss finish the self-evaluation individually. Ss assess their performance in the class and adjust their attitude and method in the next class. Homework T assigns the homework: a. Please write a short paragraph about your school education and how to learn better. Use the expressions learnt if necessary. b. Look up the quotes on Page 29 and try to figure out their meanings and background. Compare your notes with others in the next class. Ss finish the homework after class.
