Running regularly helps you keep fit. That’s why millions of people run several days a week and regularly take part in races. While running, some runners can do something good for others. They collect money for their run and give it to a charity (慈善机构). Some charity runners run a full marathon (马拉松) dressed in colorful clothes to collect more money for their charity.
Travis Snyder from the US had been thinking for some time about an idea of running for fun. Professional runners and other people could run together. In 2012 he organized the first “Color Run —The happiest 5K (kilometer) on the earth”. It started with 6,000 runners in Phoenix, Arizona, and is now held every year in many cities around the world, with millions of runners. The idea is simple: you start wearing something white, and at every kilometer people spray and paint you in different colors: 1K is yellow, 2K is blue, 3K is green, 4K is pink, and 5K is brown. Why do people go on a Color Run? Because “it’s healthy, fun and colorful”, as one runner Pierre Hoffman said.

Born in 1974, Stephen Wiltshire was always different. As a child, he couldn’t make friends. In fact, he talked to nobody, showed no interest in school subjects and wasn’t able to sit still. Stephen suffered from autism (自闭症). He didn’t learn fully to talk until he was nine and he didn’t pass his examinations, but he found one thing he liked doing: drawing. Art became his way to communicate.
He started by drawing funny pictures of his teachers, but soon began to draw buildings. His eye for detail was perfect. He could see a building just once and remember everything about it. In 1987, he saw a train station in London. Hours later, in front of TV cameras, he managed to draw this building, even with the time on the station clock saying 11:20, the exact time when he was there. The drawing showed every detail perfectly.
Since that TV program made him famous in the UK, many great things have happened to Stephen. He has become a well-known artist, and published several books of his drawings. He has also taken helicopter rides above the world’s great cities, drawn amazing pictures of them, and opened his own art gallery (画廊) in London. In 2006, he was given a special prize by the Queen of England for services to art.
