Stand over there __________ you’ll be able to see it better. A. or B. and C. but D. while 答案是 B。 1. —He is an excellent cook. —_______. The fish he cooked makes me mouth-watering. A. I couldn’t agree more B. I don’t agree with you C. I completely disagree D. I’m not sure about you 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】考查情景交际。 A. I couldn’t agree more我完全同意;B. I don’t agree with you我不同意你的观点;C. D. I’m not sure about you我对你不确定。根据空后一句“The fish he cooked makes me mouth-watering.” A。 2. The _______ on her face told me that she was in a blue mood. A. appearance B. impression C. attitude D. expression 【答案】D 【解析】 【详解】考查名词词义辨析。 A. appearance外表;B. impression印象;C. attitude态度;D. expression表情。 D。 3. After the cake __________ 20 equal parts, the host took them before the guests. A. divided into B. had been divided into C. separated into D. had been separated from 【答案】B 【解析】 【详解】考查动词短语辨析和时态。 之意;而separate…from… B。 4. The British people and the American people not only speak the same language but __________ a lot of special customs as well. A. share B. spare C. hold D. carry 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】考查动词词义辨析。 A. share分享,共有;B. spare度过;C. hold持,抓住;D. carry带着。根据前文“not only speak the same language”可知,此处意为“共有着很多特殊的风俗习惯”,故应用动词share,故选A。 5. Some people who don’t like to talk much are not necessarily shy;they ______ just be quiet people. A must B. may C. should D. would 【答案】B 【解析】 【详解】考查情态动词的用法。 A. must一定;B. may也许;C. should应该;D. would将。 B。 6. Who is ______ to be the best football player this year still depends A. likely B. certain C. possible D. probable 【答案】A 【解析】 【分析】 【详解】考查形容词近义词辨析。 Sb/Sth is likely to do“某人/某物有可能做”,为固定结构,故选A。 7. It is obvious to the students ______ they should get well prepared for their future. A. as B. which C. whether D. that 【答案】D 【解析】 【详解】考查名词性从句。 本题中的it是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的they should get well prepared for their future句子成分齐全,所以使用只起连接作用、无实意的that引导。故D正确。 【点睛】名词性从句的考查集中在引导词的选择上,连接词that只起连接作用;连接代词who(ever),which(ever),whom(ever),whose(ever),what(ever)在句中做主语,宾语,表语和定语;连接副词when, why, where, how,在句中做状语。 8. We'll have a picnic in the park this Sunday ________ it rains or it's very cold. A. since B. if C. unless D. until 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】考查从属连词。 C。 9. You can never imagine what great difficulty I had __________ the solution to this problem. A. found B. to find C. finding D. for finding 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】考查非谓语动词。 短语have difficulty in doing sth. C。 10. A fast food restaurant is the place __________, just as the name suggests, eating is performed quickly. A. which B. what C. there D. where 【答案】D 【解析】 【详解】考查定语从句。 My friend Michelle is blind, but you’d never know it. The European ship was first observed in 2009, when a sonar(声呐) exploration by the Swedish Maritime Administration (SMA) indicated a large object in the area. However, it was not until early 2019 that researchers from Soton and MMT found evidence of the sunken ship using underwater robotic cameras. When the team observed the pictures of the 60-foot-long shipwreck, they were surprised to discover it was 99 percent complete. The scientists considered that the wreck's good condition is due to its place in the Baltic Seabed, where the oxygen levels are low. Oxygen is key to most ocean life's survival. Therefore, such an environment where the shipwreck stays reduces or completely removes the creatures that feed on rotting wood. So although this ship is contemporary to the times of Christopher Columbus, it shows a remarkable level of preservation after 500 years at the bottom of the sea. Dr. Pacheco-Ruiz, who led the MMT effort, said,“It's almost like it sank yesterday. It's a truly astonishing sight." The scientists are unsure what let the ship sink. However, the ship's guns, which are in their"ready to fire" positions, indicate it may have been the victim of a naval battle. Since the ship dates back to the early 16th century, historians predict it may have sunk during Sweden's three year independence war with its Danish rulers between 1521 and 1523. Alternatively, it could also have been involved in the border dispute (争端) between Russia and Sweden from 1554 to 1557. The ship is by far the best-preserved shipwreck ever found from the Age of Exploration, when Europeans explored the world by sea. What's more exciting is that the ship is similar to the Pinta and La Nina, which Comlubus famously sailed toward North America. The scientists, who continue to observe the shipwreck hope the boat's design will expose some of the technologies available to the Italian explorer during his 1492 voyage of discovery. 31. What scientific achievement did Soton 's and MMT' s researchers make? A Discovering a wreck using sonar. B. Getting the wreck out or icy water. C. Identifying the object found by SMA. D. Making the ancient wreck well preserved. 32. What can we learn about the place of the sunken ship? A. It is generally unfit for creatures to live in. B. It is tough for scientists to do research. C. It contains too many harmful gases. D. It is filled with rotting wood. 33. Dr. Pacheco-Ruiz's words reflected_________. A. his curiosity about the time when the ship sank B. his amazement at the ship's previous grandness C. his surprise at the wreck's well-preserved condition D. his shock at the sinking of the great European ship 34. What's Paragraph 4 mainly about? A. The damage to the ship. B. The causes of the ship's sinking. C. The construction of the ship. D. The possible function of the ship. 35. What will the scientists' following research probably focus on? A. Recovering the ancient ships, the Pinta and La Nina. B. Finding every aspect of life in the Age of Exploration. C Exploring the role the ship played in Columbus' exploration. D. Leaning about Columbus' voyage according to the ship's design. C 32. A 33. C 34. B 35. 根据第一段中“The European ship was first observed in 2009, when a sonar(声呐) exploration by the Swedish Maritime Administration (SMA) indicated a large object in the area. However, it was not until early 2019 that researchers from Soton and MMT found evidence of the sunken ship using underwater robotic cameras.” 根据第二段中“The scientists considered that the wreck's good condition is due to its place in the Baltic Seabed, where the oxygen levels are low. Oxygen is key to most ocean life's survival. Therefore, such an environment where the shipwreck stays reduces or completely removes the creatures that feed on rotting wood.” 故选A。 Pacheco-Ruiz, who led the MMT effort, said,“It's almost like it sank yesterday. It's a truly astonishing sight.” 根据第四段中“The scientists are unsure what let the ship sink. However, the ship's guns, which are in their"ready to fire" positions, indicate it may have been the victim of a naval battle. 根据最后一段“What's more exciting is that the ship is similar to the Pinta and La Nina, which Comlubus famously sailed toward North America. The scientists, who continue to observe the shipwreck hope the boat's design will expose some of the technologies available to the Italian explorer during his 1492 voyage of discovery.” In June 2020, my life changed and so did my family’s. I remember the day like it was yesterday. My mother told me the worst news imaginable — my dad had been diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer (结肠癌). The news hit hard of course. However, in my head, my dad was a superman. As his daughter, I knew that cancer wasn’t going to beat him. As weeks went on, life didn’t change much within our house. My mom still went to work; my brother and I still went to school; and my dad still worked while also meeting his doctor. However, I didn’t realized how much this new diagnosis was going to change my life. As treatment progressed with my dad’s cancer, I couldn’t depend on him for things he usually did. And with my brother being away at college, I had to take on a lot more responsibility. But that was not the hardest part of this new journey. It was the fear. The fear that I could lose my Dad. The fear that I could get a call saying that he was in bad condition. The fear that I could never talk to him again. Yet with all these fears, there was never a doubt in my mind that my dad would beat this cancer. He was a superman. The day of my dad’s surgery finally came. It was Father’s Day and I had my soccer game that day. I won my battle on the field and my dad won his in the hospital. May 2023, my dad was completely cancer free. Though this journey proved to be a few of the hardest years of my life, it also proved to me how wonderful my dad really is. 36. What happened to the author’s family in June 2020? ________________________________________________________ 37. How did the author behave after hearing the news from her mother? ________________________________________________________ 38. What’s the meaning of the underlined word “surgery” in Paragraph 5? ________________________________________________________ 39. When did the author’s father completely recover from cancer? ________________________________________________________ 40. What’s your father like? Please explain. ________________________________________________________ 【答案】36. Her dad had been diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer. 37. She still had faith in dad. 38. Medical operation. 39. In May 2023. 40. My father has good-personalities such as diligence, devotion, care, optimism, working very hard in the fields all the year round. B A perfectly preserved wreck (沉船) that has lain unnoticed in the icy Baltic Sea for over 500 years has finally been confirmed. C. Exploring the role the ship played in Columbus' exploration. D. Leaning about Columbus' voyage according to the ship's design. In June 2020, my life changed and so did my family’s.
