人与自我——生活与学习
Everyone loves toys because they’re fun to play with and they always
make you think of the good time in your childhood.
It’s hard for a child to move his or her feet in front of fun toys. It is the
same for many adults. Toy collecting is one of those hobbies that bring out
the kid in you. If you’re going to start a toy collection, here is some advice.

Make sure you know about the value(价值) of your toys, or the
toys you will buy. Get to know it by asking the shopkeeper, looking through
the websites or reading books. The more you know about your hobby, the
better!
Do you love trains or dolls? While it’s great to have all kinds of toys,
it can be fun tostudy the kind of toy that you’re most interested in.

Always remember that the condition, the year and the price are the
three most important things you need to consider when you buy a toy. If the
toy is quite old, in good shape, and at a good price, then you’ve hit the
jackpot(中头彩)!
Toy collecting is all about having fun! Don’t only pay attention to the
number and don’t spend all your money on toys! Be fair toyour toys, and
above all, have fun while collecting your toys.

人与自我——做人与做事
Once upon a time, there was a man who loved fruit very much.
One day, he went to India with his friends. When he got there, he
saw a lot of fruit, but much of it was expensive. Finally, he saw a big
basket of fruit. The fruit was red and long. And it was the cheapest there.
So he went up and bought a whole kilo-gram of the fruit and started
eating it. But after he ate some of it, his eyes watered, his mouth watered
and burnt, and his face became red. He jumped up and down, saying
“Ah! Ah! Ah!”.

But he still continued to eat the fruit! Some people who were looking
at him shook their heads and said, “You’re crazy, man. Those are chilies
(辣椒)! You can’t eat so many! People use them as relish, but only a
little bit to be put into food for taste. You can’t just eat them like that.” But
the silly man said, “No, I can’t stop! I paid money for them, and now
I’ll eat them up. It’s my money!”
We sometimes do something like that. We still continue just because
we’ve put money, time, effort and love into it even though we suffer from
it.

Do you think your winter is cold? Temperatures in Yakutsk(雅库茨
克) fell to -62.7℃ in January—the coldest in more than twenty years.
Yakutsk is the capital of Russia’s Sakha Republic. It is just a few
hundred miles south of the Arctic Circle(北极圈). It is widely thought of
as one of the coldest cities in the world. People there know the key to keeping
warm—just dress warmly, like a cabbage. In the winter, the city is
covered with “ice fog”. That happens when air is so cold that warmer air
from houses, people and cars can’t go up.
Yakutsk was built in 1632. Today, it is the scientific, cultural and
economic center for the Russian Far Eastern Federal District. The city has a
population of more than 300,000. They mainly live on dairy products(奶
制品), meat and fish. Although there are rich natural resources(资
源), many people live a poor life. Some even live in places worse than
their farm animals’ living places. The city also has some special museums.
Permafrost Kingdom is one of the most popular museums. It is an under-
ground museum with beautiful ice sculptures(冰雕). Its summer is cool.
Visiting Yakutsk in winter is not a good idea.
If you want to experience this kind of life in Yakutsk, please come and
see.
