D For the last three years, a man in India has been living a real-life daily nightmare (噩梦). Every time he walks out of his house, he gets attacked by a group of crows. The strange thing is that the birds only aimed at him. Shiva Kewat, a daily wage laborer from Sumela village, says his troubles with crows began three years ago. One day, as he was walking on the street, he noticed a crow chick trapped in iron netting. Despite his efforts to help the small bird escape, it died in his hands. Some of the crows must have seen the scene and believed that he killed it, because they’ve been attacking him ever since. Kewat has to carry a stick with him. He just waves the stick around to drive them off. Kewat said that he didn’t really take the crows’ attacks seriously until he was aware that he was the only target (目标) of the birds and that no one else had ever had a problem with them. And as word of his troubles with the blackbirds spread in and around the village, people started gathering at his house every day just to see if he’d get attacked. Some found it amusing, while others described the attacks as “sudden and frightening”. Professor Ashok Kumar Munjal, who studies bird behavior at Barkatullah University in Bhopal, said that crows have a very sharp memory and tend to recollect those who have wronged them. While their idea of revenge (报仇) may not be as complex as ours, they do tend to conduct either single or group attacks against humans who hurt them. 30. What has been causing inconvenience to Kewat in the past three years? A. He’s been suffering from crow droppings. B. He’s been having nightmares during sleep. C. He’s been under attack from crows. D. He’s been the only victim of all bird attacks. 31 What led to Kewat’s troubles? A. His cruel killing of a crow chick. B. The act of disrespect to crows. C. His refusal to save a trapped crow chick. D. The misunderstanding between him and crows. 32. Kewat began to think much of crow attacks after he realized _________. A. the crows attacked nobody but him B. he was attacked more and more frequently C. more and more crows joined in the attacks D. people started gathering at his house every day 33. What does the underlined word “recollect” in the last paragraph mean? A. Ignore. B. Remember. C. Imitate. D. Reject. 第二节(共5小题;每小题 2. 5分,满分12. 5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Theme park getaways are popular with families, but they sure aren’t cheap. I’m maximum vanngarrof and I’m very happy to share with you my connection with open tcosky competition. It was June nineteen eighty six when I came to Moscow to participate in open tkofsky competition at the age of ten. From Shelia Belinsky. This was actually the turning point of my life. Then I attended a world music festival in Berlin. And it was interesting to say that a kid made his breakthrough already at the age of ten. And that was me. Now as a judge of the competition. I can see clearly the huge challenges facing the musicians in the competition. Where else can you see young players playing within ten days classical works and Russian traditional music before coming to the final stage. As a musician. It’s important to give maximum attention and time to your own reflections of your own feelings. So what I’m really looking for in the competition is to meet someone who can touch me musically. I want to see the seed. At least the seed of the great tree that can grow. I would go for this violinist. I would go for this musician. 第二部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分45分) 第一节(共13小题;每小题2. 5分,满分32. 5分) A Where to Eat in Bangkok Bangkok is a highly desirable destination for food lovers. 31. What led to Kewat’s troubles? A. Ignore. B. Remember. C. Imitate. D. Reject. 【答案】30. C 31. D 32. A 33. Despite his efforts to help the small bird escape, it died in his hands. 根据文章第三段“Kewat said that he didn’t really take the crows’ attacks seriously until he was aware that he was the only target of the birds and that no one else had ever had a problem with them. Theme park getaways are popular with families, but they sure aren’t cheap. Never ever pay the walk-up ticket price at a theme park. _____35_____.You're guaranteed to save a significant sum-sometimes as much as $$ 20 per ticket-even for same-day tickets. ●Buy in advance. ___36___.For instance, Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, slices off $$25 per ticket when you make your purchase at least three days ahead. ● _____37_____. This one is a universal no-brainer. Single-day ticket prices at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, are about 30 percent less than admission on Saturdays and Sundays. But the big bonus is that lines will be much shorter, allowing you to spend less time waiting in lines and more time having fun. ●Go in the afternoon. ___38___.For example, Hersheypark’s sunset tickets allow entry after 4 pm or 5 pm, depending on the day. You'll still get between four to six hours of fun before the park closes, and you'll pay up to 50 percent less than the full-day ticket price. A. Avoid weekends. B. Buy more tickets than you need. C. Here are some ways to lower your theme park spending. D. At larger parks, you’ll save money when you buy a package. E. Instead, visit the theme park website and print out your tickets before you go.
