After years of efforts, China’s space station has been fully operational.

After the Shenzhou XV spacecraft docked (对接) with the Tiangong space station, the three astronauts handed it over to the three new arrivals before returning to Earth. During the week-long transition (过渡) period there were six astronauts living in the space station. That’s really a huge step forward. Actually, China’s space progress has been advancing. It took eight years to go from Shenzhou V to the Tiangong I space lab, and five years from Tiangong I to the more advanced spacelab Tian gong II.
With the arrival of the Shenzhou XV spacecraft and it screw (全体工作人员) , the Chinese space station is opening a new chapter for China’s space program, as the astronauts will conduct a series of scientific experiments in space. More than 40 space science and technology experiments will be conducted by the Shenzhou XV astronauts. And with more scientific research equipment to be sent to the space station, it will be equal to having a world-class university laboratory in space.
Besides, requests have been received from several countries to send astronauts to take part in the space station experiments, and China is coordinating (协调) with them and actively preparing for the training of foreign astronauts.
The International Space Station has conducted over 3,000 experiments during its time in service, and the Chinese space station won’t waste a minute in this regard. As the only space station after the ISS is retired, it will continue to expand human’s understanding of space. That is worth looking forward to.

I often wondered what it would be like to have cancer.
I didn’t expect to find out, though, at last not for decades. I have always been healthy and strong; I regularly do hot yoga and swim two kilometers in a bay near my home in Sydney.
But now I know: it felt as if I was carrying a baby. Tumors (肿瘤) that silently grew inside me suddenly became bigger one weekend.
Then, one Saturday in June, I was struck with sharp pain and ended up in the hospital.
My doctor said it might be very serious. I spent two weeks waiting for the operation, not knowing if I’d live to the end of the year.
In the days before the operation, I turned off my phone and computer. I prayed so hard that I grew unnaturally calm.
The operation lasted five hours. The mass was fully removed, but it was unexpectedly complicated. I was in special care for eight days, in the wires, machines, with pipes in my lungs and liver.
Luckily, the operation was very successful and I am slowly growing stronger. I am walking upright again and waking without great pain. I can now drive, and am preparing to return to work. My prognosis (预后) is good, but I will need to live with the fear of return.
Everyone suddenly seems consumed with foolish worries. I have a different idea about the complaints posted by some Internet users who had the flu, were upset by the upcoming exams or burdened by work. I want to scream: BUT YOU ARE ALIVE! Alive! Each day is a gift, especially if you are upright and able to move with ease, without pain.
I’m still struggling with what all of this means. But in this short time, a truth became even clearer to me.
We should not have to move to the woods like Henry David Thoreau to “live meaningfully”. It would be impossible and frankly tiring to live each day as if it were your last. My doctor asked me a few days ago how I became so calm before the operation. I told her: I prayed; I locked out negativity and drew my family and friends near; I tried to live meaningfully.
She said, “Actually you should do that for the rest of your life.”
28. What did the author think of her physical state before being diagnosed (诊断) with cancer?
A. She knew tumors silently grew inside her.
B. She exercised regularly but felt bad sometimes.
C. She thought there was nothing wrong with her health.
D. She was considered to be healthy by the doctor.
29. Which one is not the so-called “foolish worries” according to the author in Paragraph 9?
A. Loss of both legs. B. Suffering from the flu.
C. Burden of heavy workloads. D. Fear of the monthly exams.
30. Which of the following can best describe the author?
A. Kind and outgoing. B. Cautious and brave.
C. Confident and generous. D. Positive and reflective.
31. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?
A. To share a pleasant experience. B. To recommend a healthy lifestyle.
C. To call on people to live a worthy life. D. To try hard to make a difference to the world.

Mr. Ward couldn’t stand students cheating the most. Whenever there was an exam, he watched very closely, making sure no act of cheating was neglected, and any student who cheated would be seriously punished.
I remember many times after tests, Mr. Ward found that the students sitting around me had better scores than the others and the further away a student was from me, the worse his grade. Mr. Ward suspected that some of the juniors “accidentally” got some of my answers. So he and I had a very interesting talk about cheating.
Mr. Ward once told me of some of the ways students tried to cheat. Student A intentionally “dropped” his pencil an unusually far distance from his desk. Then he stood up and walked slowly across the room to take it back. On the way, he glanced at the papers. Student B got a piece of paper and wrote down all the formulas (公式) on a tiny bit of paper taped to the inside of the kid’s palm. These incidents weren’t very rare.
The last day of the entire school year, all I had left was my math exam and there seemed to be some definite tension in the air because this was the biggest test of the year. I saw some kids trying to do some last minute studying, some trying to calm themselves down by breathing slowly and some saying a silent prayer.
Mr. Ward went to the front and started handing out the tests by rows. After explaining the rules of the test, he said very clearly, “If you cheat, I will take your test and tear it up. You will get a 0 for the biggest grade of the year.” Mr. Ward moved very effortlessly and efficiently about the room and during every test he went into a sort of RADAR mode. He sat at the front and watched the room for anything that might look like cheating. During this RADAR mode, if you were cheating, you would be caught. Guaranteed.
注意:(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
(2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Our test started and we were sitting there busy working on our papers.

Then Mr. Ward asked the kid he was watching to go to his office.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 Our test started and we were sitting there busy working on our papers. Given the importance of the test, all students put in a lot of effort to write down their answers. I was relieved when I finished it easily. With 15 minutes left, I carefully checked my answers. Then I put down my pencil and looked around. At that time, I noticed something peculiar. I was surprised to see a kid stretching his neck to sneak a look at other students’ answers. He was cheating! I was unsure of what to do when I saw Mr. Ward looking at the kid with anger in his eyes.
Then Mr. Ward asked the kid he was watching to go to his office. The kid, feeling embarrassed and scared, slowly moved into the office. In front of the stern Mr. Ward, the kid stood still and silent, his head hanging low and his body shaking uncontrollably. Eventually, he was overwhelmed with guilt, tears of regret streaming down his face. In a tearful voice, he confessed to cheating in the test. Mr. Ward’s expression softened slightly. He gently patted the kid’s head and said seriously, “Honesty is the most important thing!” The kid nodded in understanding. Despite receiving a failing grade, the kid learned a valuable lesson about honesty.

After years of efforts, China’s space station has been fully operational.
Over the past 19 years, from China’s first manned space mission Shenzhou V to the latest Shenzhou XV launch, the nation’s space projects have progressed from a single-astronaut mission to the long-term stay of several astronauts in space, and the length of time the astronauts stay in space has expanded from just 23 hours to six months.
Besides requests have been received from several countries to send astronauts to take part in the space station experiments, and China is coordinating (协调) with them and actively preparing for the training of foreign astronauts.
The International Space Station has conducted over 3,000 experiments during its time in service, and the Chinese space station won’t waste a minute in this regard. I often wondered what it would be like to have cancer.
I didn’t expect to find out, though, at last not for decades. I have always been healthy and strong; I regularly do hot yoga and swim two kilometers in a bay near my home in Sydney.
But now I know: it felt as if I was carrying a baby Tumors (肿瘤) that silently grew inside me suddenly became bigger one weekend.

Guaranteed.
注意:(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
(2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Our test started and we were sitting there busy working on our papers.
