There is lots of junk(垃圾) in space. Some of it is from rockets. In 1996, a rocket broke into about 300,000 small pieces. So far, scientists have found many man-made pieces flying around in space. Only a few of them are satellites and space probes(探测器). Astronauts also lose small things while working in space. In 1965, during the first American spacewalk, astronaut Edward H. White lost a glove. For a month, the glove stayed in space, travelling at a speed of 28,000 kilometres per hour. It became the most dangerous piece of clothing for the earth in history.

Things move very fast in space. If they hit(碰撞) one another it can be dangerous. A little piece of paint from a satellite once made a hole in a spacecraft window. Once American spacecraft dropped some bolts(螺栓), and scientists on the earth worried a lot. Luckily the bolts floated(漂浮) away into space. They could not hit the spacecraft.

Bicycles have been very popular in China. In our country you can see bicycles almost everywhere. When you walk on the road, you could find a lot of people riding bicycles to schools, shops and anywhere else. Therefore(因此), China is known as “the kingdom(王国) of bicycles”.

Compared with cars, bicycles have many advantages. First, they are much cheaper than cars. Some Chinese can’t afford cars, but they can afford bicycles. Second, bicycles are small enough to park anywhere while cars need a larger piece of land to park on. What’s more, with lower speed, bicycles are safer than cars.
However, bicycles also bring some problems. Some riders don’t obey the traffic rules and some riders don’t care about others’ safety. So they ride too fast. During rush hours, they may cause traffic accidents. We should find ways to solve the problem.

I did something wrong today.
While at the beach this afternoon, I met a boy called Bob. We talked a lot. He said that it was fun playing on the cliff(悬崖). I told him that I was not allowed to go near that place(Mum and Dad had always told me it was dangerous to play there). He called me a coward. I wanted to prove to him that I was brave, so I agreed to go with him.

We wanted to make our way down to explore the area, so Bob started to climb down and I followed him. Unluckily, some rocks came down after us. One of them nearly hit my head. We could not get back up. We shouted for help, but for a long time, no help came. I was really scared. I wanted to cry. Then, we heard some sounds. Someone had heard us. A woman tied(系) a rope around herself while a man on the cliff top held the rope. She made her way down to save us.
My parents were relieved(感到宽慰的) that I was unhurt, but they were angry that I had done such a risky thing. I apologised and promised that I would not do anything like that again.
