教材分析

3. 分析和评判作者对未来职业发展的观点和态度,发表自己的看法。

教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
What do you think are the typical features of careers in the past? What about in the future? What may have caused the changes? How can you get yourself prepared? Use the phrases below to help you.
设计意图:创设情景,引入主题。
Step 2 Pre-reading
You are going to read an article about future careers. Look at the title of the lesson. Tick (√) the topics that you think will be mentioned.
设计意图:阅读文章之前对内容进行预测,引起学生兴趣。
Step 3 While-reading
1. Read the article. Check your prediction.
2. Pair Work: Complete the information according to the article.
3. Group Work: Think and share.
(1) Why does the writer think the “new boss” is “you”?
(2) On what points do you agree or disagree with the writer?
(3) In paragraphs 2-4, the writer discusses some of the wrong assumptions. Why does the writer do this?

Step 4 Post-reading
1. Find verbs in the article to complete the collocations. Complete the sentences with the collocations.

3. Pair Work Tick (√) the sentences that show irony. Then discuss your answers. Explain the examples of irony.

Search online and find out what jobs have disappeared in the past 10 years. What new jobs do you think will appear in the next 10 years?

Write a short passage about what you can do to be “the new boss” in the future.
