Unit 2 Sports and Fitness Writing Workshop Period 1 教材分析 本课是一节写作课，本文写的是一个真实的故事。在第十五届圣巴巴拉自行车越野大奖赛的最后冲刺阶段，参赛自行车选手Esteban当时位列第三名，但是他的自行车胎突然被扎破了，他不得不扛着自行车奔向终点站。紧跟其后的第四名赛手Navarro本可以骑车超过Esteban的，但是他没有赶超。只是跟在奔跑向终点的Esteban后面，让Esteban获得了铜牌。比赛结束后，Esteban想把铜牌送给Navarro, 但是Navarro没有接受。两位自行车赛手在比赛中表现出来的体育精神深深感动了在场的所有人，这也成为体育赛事史上的美谈。 教学目标  在本课学习结束时，学生能够： 1. 明确写作内容，为写作做好准备； 2. 了解范文的关键信息和结构； 3. 归纳总结如何才能写出真实感人的故事。 教学重难点 【教学重点】 1. 了解个人最后冲刺这一真实果实的关键信息和结构。 2. 总结归纳真实故事包括的主要元素和优秀作文的要求。 【教学难点】 快速定位真实故事的背景、人物、发展、高潮和结尾几个重要元素所需要的关键故事信息，为写出逻辑清晰、结构合理、真实感人的故事做好充分准备。 教学过程 Step 1 Warming-up You are going to write a true story to share with the class. The story would be something interesting that either happened to you or someone who inspires you in the past. Discuss the questions with your partner. 设计意图：明确写作内容和目的，激活学生已有的语言知识和生活经历；提供机会，使学生能够互相交流、启发。 Step 2 Predict According to the title and the picture, predict what kind of event this is. 设计意图：根据图片和标题预测故事内容，并猜测标题final sprint的内容。 Step 3 Read for Writing 1. Read the story “The Final Sprint” and answer the questions. 1) Who were the main characters? 2) Where and when did it happen? 3) How did the story develop? 4) What was the result? 设计意图：引导学生通过阅读理解语篇的主要内容，关注话题相关表达，为后续写作做准备。 2. Read again and answer another three questions. 5) What was the audience’s reaction when watching “the final sprint”? 6) Why didn’t Navarro take advantage of Esteban’s troubles? 7) What did Navarro’s response “Offering me the prize was worth more than what I did for him.” mean? 设计意图：再次阅读，回答关于观众反应、两个主人公是如何友好相处共同克服困难的问题。引导学生读懂文本字里行间的意思，并能用较得体的语言表述出来。 Step 4 Focus on Structure What are the main elements of a story? 设计意图：引导学生仔细分析文本结构，明确每一个部分所要写的重点内容。 Step 5 Focus on Language Write 2-3 sentences for your story.
