(时文)
The FIFA World Cup came to an end in December 2022. But people's love for soccer doesn't end in Zibo, Shandong.
Zibo is called “the home of soccer”. It's home of the ancient (古老的) Chinese sport—cuju. In 2004, cuju won the recognition(认可) of FIFA as the earliest soccer.
Li Weipeng, 34, from Linzi of Zibo City, is a seventh-generation inheritor (第七代传承人) of cuju. He started to learn to play cuju 18 years ago.

It is not easy to learn to play cuju. “At the beginning, I spent eight hours a day juggling (颠) a ball[1]. It was tiring,” Li told China Daily. He now can juggle a ball with his foot over 10,000 times at a time.
Teaching students cuju is a part of Li's job. The ancient Chinese sport cuju is now welcome at schools in Linzi. Students can learn to play cuju from dances and morning exercises.
“Many students want to know about cuju. It makes me want
to show and teach them the ancient sport[2],” Li told China Daily.
