Write a letter to yourself from the future. 教学内容 教学重点： 1. To learn how to write a letter from future self 2. To start thinking about your future career and making preparations for it 教学难点： 1. How to encourage students to think the changes may happen in the career 2. How to write a letter clearly organized 教学过程 1、 Warming up 1. Watch a video and think about what the video talks about. (The video talks about students’ future career.) 2. What career would you like to pursue in the future? (Students may don’t have any idea about their future career or they can’t tell the reason why they would like choose it) 2、 Reading and thinking Activity 1: Read the passage in the text book page 23 and then answer questions. (By reading the letter, students know what should be included in the letter from future self.) Activity 2: Read the passage again and try to figure out the structure of the letter. First part (Para 1): The introduction of ourselves and the purpose of writing this letter. Second part (Para 2-3): The contents, advantages and disadvantages of the career. Third part (Para 1): Best wishes to the present self. 3、 Discussion Discuss with desk mates the following questions. 1. Which career are you interested in? 2. How might future advances in technology change those career? 3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of these future careers? 4. How might you best prepare for your future career? Possible answer: 1. Chef 2. Human only give ideas and orders while robots can operate 3. Advantages: easy and convenient; disadvantages: lose the fun of cooking 4.
