Compare the mime with the film that is dubbed by writing a script and then dubbing the scene. 教学过程 Step 1 Lead In (1) What does the name “Charlie Chaplin” remind you of? (2) Watch a shot video about Charlie Chaplin to get familiar with this great actor. Purpose: To get familiar with Charlie Chaplin and his film and also to arouse the interest of the students in the class. Step 2 Make predictions (1)Students have a look at the picture, read the title and the introduction, and then try to focus on the specialty of “an immigrant” to get prepared for the film The Immigrant. (2) Students look at the photos from the film The Immigrant and try to guess what these characters’ body language and expressions mean. (3) Then Students try to predict the story of the film. Purpose: To get the students familiar with the film The Immigrant and stress the importance of prediction and getting information from body language as well as expressions. Step 3 Check the predictions Students watch the video and check whether the predictions are right or wrong.
