    Cartoon artists create stories and draw comic strips. If you are interested in this job, the following information can tell you things about it.

Job description

As a cartoon artist, you may work for newspapers, magazines, films or television shows.

Wherever you work, you will draw cartoon characters to tell a story or show an idea. Some cartoons are for children while others are for adults. Sometimes you may work alone and finish the whole cartoon by yourself, but you may also be required to work with others to share ideas and finish a project.

Duties (职责)

The main duties of your job are writing and drawing as a cartoon artist. Before you can create a cartoon, you must have ideas. Once you have an idea, you’ll begin to think how to turn that idea into a cartoon. You may need to work on character creation, giving the character a personality (个性) and putting the character in the main storyline of the cartoon.  

   According to a report in 2019, ordinary artists can get a pay of $58,250 a year. However, if you are professional, you can get $5,380 more than ordinary artists a year.

There are different kinds of cartoons for kids to watch. A kind of cartoons that kids should watch is cartoons like The Flints tones, The Jetsons, or Scooby Doo. This kind of cartoons should be nice for kids to enjoy.

Today’s cartoons like South Park, Robot Chicken, or Family Guy will make a big difference to kids. They may bring bad things for kids, because the characters in those shows say all kinds of curse (诅咒) words. And those words are easy for kids to learn. When they get angry, they cannot keep their words clean. Children should enjoy cartoons that do not have any curse words in them.
