教学实施过程:
1. Have students view the chart about “Ages of Internet users by
percentage”, and describe the chart by using the following expressions.
Useful expressions:
As can be conveyed/illustrated/reflected from the chart ..
There has been a rise/an increase/a drop/a decrease of ... per cent in the
number of the Internet users with the age from ... to ...
The number of the Internet users with the age of ... has risen/increased
/dropped/decreased from ... to .../by ... per cent ...
As can be conveyed from the chart, over the past five years, the number of
Internet users has been increasing in most age groups, but the 20 — 39 age
group has decreased by about 10%.
2. Have students provide more information on the topic of Internet use.
History: The first computers; public commercial use of the Internet;
the world’s first website
Last five years: Online activities by percentage; ways people access the
Internet by percentage; ages of Internet users by percentage

3. Have students finish part C on page 38 based on the chart above. Remind
them that the expressions listed on this page can be used in their conversation.
4. Have students write a report on Internet use individually. They can refer
to “Planning your writing” in part D to guide their writing in terms of the
text type, structure and language.
5. Have students check their writing after they finish and exchange drafts
with their partners for peer review.
6. Have students share their report in class and evaluate which report is
the best one.
