第 2 课时 Reading and Thinking 1.教材分析 What: The theme of this period is “Start an online community”. The text tells us a story of an unemployed woman who got help from an online community and helped other people change their lives with the Internet. Why: The purpose of the text is to help students learn to predict the key information of the text according to the title as well as realize the great benefits that the Internet has brought to us. How: The text is a narrative. The title of the text is "Stronger Together: How We Have Been Changed by the Internet", which contains a main title and a subtitle. The main title indicates the result or status, and the subtitle provides a context for the main title. The present perfect passive voice is used in the text to emphasize the great influences the Internet has on people’s lives. 2.学情分析 In the first period of this unit, students talked about their online habits. It lays the foundation for them to think of the influences of the Internet on us and helps them learn about the benefits that the Internet has brought us.
