Lesson Plan Project Title 6AM2U4P3 Interviewing a doctor Analysis of Students The class is made up of 40 lower intermediate English learners aged from 12 to 13. They are able to understand dialogues written in simple English. The classroom is dynamic. Some students are highly motivated but some students’ motivation is only skin-deep. Most of the students are interested in reading dialogues about interviews and they have certain knowledge of Wh-/How questions. Analysis of Teaching Material The lesson focuses on reading about interviewing a doctor. The picture is appealing and interesting. Since it is the third period in this unit, the lesson will review some of the language focus in the previous lessons, i.e. using nouns to identify people, asking Wh- questions to find out the reason and using connectives to give reasons and it will lay a solid foundation for the following lessons aiming to help students to write a composition about what they would like to be in the future. Teaching Objectives By the end of the class, students will be able to 1) understand the new vocabularies, such as interview, find out, if, age, finish, etc. 2) get information about jobs by reading the interview. 3) interview others about their jobs by asking Wh-/How questions politely and have good manners. Teaching Focus and Anticipated Difficulties Use appropriate Wh-/How questions to interview others about their jobs politely.
