名词性从句
在复合句中起名词作用的从句叫名词从句 (Noun Clauses)。名词从句的功能相当于名词词组, 它在复合句中能担任主语、宾语、表语、同位语、介词宾语等,因此根据它在句中不同的语法功能,名词从句又可分别称为主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句。
一、名词性从句的连接词
从属连词
只起连接作用,不充当从句中的任何作用。
that, whether, if,
as if/as though(只用于表词从句)
连接代词
既起连接作用,本身又做从句的主语、宾语、表语或定语。
who, whom, whose, what, which
whoever, whomever,
whatever , whichever
连接副词
既起连接作用,本身又做从句的状语。
when, where, why, how
whenever ,wherever, however

1). 名词性从句的语序练习:

2). What 与 that 的用法区别
_________是连词,无意义,在名词性从句中不充当任何成分,只起连接作用,即后面跟的是一个完整的句子;
____________是连接代词1.表示“……的东西或事情”;2.表示“……的人或的样子”;3.表示“……的数量或数目”;4.表示“……的时间”;5.表示“……的地方”,在名词性从句中充当成分,通常充当主语,宾语,表语,即后面跟的是一个不完整的句子。
1. what表示“……的东西或事情”,相当于“the thing(s) that或者all that”。例如:
They’ve done what they can to help her.
2. what表示“……的人或的样子”, 相当于“the person(s) that” 。例如:
He is no longer what he was.
3. what表示“……的数量或数目”, 相当于“the number that” 。例如:
The number of the students in our school is ten times what it was before liberation.
4. what表示“……的时间”, 相当于“the thing(s) that)”, 相当于“the time that)” 。例如:
The young girl
