Passage 1
He is Tony. He is a new student in our class. He doesn’t know any of the rules of our class! We have to tell him to do many things. We tell him how to sit, speak and use school things.
When we are having a P.E. class, he wants to sit. “No! We can’t always sit in the P.E. class! ” we say. And then he speaks in a low voice (嗓音). “No! We don’t have to be quiet in the sports center.” And he doesn’t know how to play basketball either. We show him how to do it.
We go to the dining hall. He sits at a table. “Good job! ” we say. And then he speaks in a loud (大声的) voice. “No! We can’t be too noisy in the dining hall.” He wants to play with his food. “No! It’s not right to do that.”
What can he do and what can’t he do? He doesn’t know rules are different (不同的) in different places. We go back to the classroom and write down the rules for different places at school. It’s useful to him.

Passage 2
New winter coat rule
The coldest months of winter have arrived. But Woodchurch High School in the UK has banned (禁止) students from wearing expensive down coats (羽绒服) after Christmas.
This is to stop ‘poverty-shaming (贫困羞辱)’ among its students, the Independent noted. Coat brands like Canada Goose and Moncler sell for£1,000 (8,674 yuan), a cost that only the richest families are able to cover. Poor students feel left out when they see others wear these coats.
“These coats cause a lot of inequality (不平等),” head teacher Rebekah Phillips told CNN. “They stigmatize (使……感到羞耻) students and parents who are less well off.”
