Present some pictures and ask Ss to answer the questions. 2. T leads Ss to say the whole sentence with the present continuous tense. 3. To practise Ss’ observing abilities. Step 2 Presentation &Practice (30 mins) 1. Ask Ss to observe the sentences and summarize the definition of the present continuous tense. 2. Ask Ss to finish exercises and try to summarize the conjugation rules of verbs. 3. Exercises on the book. 4. Ask Ss to do the exercise about the conversion of the sentence patterns. Then, T makes a summary on the conversion. 5. Exercises on the conversion. 1. Observe and make a summary. 2. Listen and take notes. 3. Finish exercises and correct the answers. To train Ss’ observing and summarizing abilities. To make Ss master the grammatical rules about the present continuous tense of verbs. Step 3 Summary (5 mins) 1. Ask Ss to sort out their notes and discuss in groups about what we have learned in this class. 2. Ask several of them make a summary. Discuss in groups and make a summary. To consolidate knowledge.
