Teaching focuses: · Guiding students to effectively master, appropriately express and complete the communicative tasks with the ways of describing route. Learning difficulties: · Students may have difficulty in using the preposition ‘into’ to describe route. Teaching Procedure: Stage Learning Activities Purposes Pre-listening 1. Look at the map and learn words about describing route. 2. Look at the picture and predict what the children will talk on the phone. To guide students to learn the ways of describing route and enhance their capacity to predict. While-listening 1. Listen to the dialogue and check the prediction. To guide students to understand the gist and details. 2.Listen to the dialogue and find out the places. 3. Listen to the dialogue and take down notes about the routes. Post-listening 1. Practise describing route in pairs. 2.Pair work: Describe how to get to the nearest cinema from our school. To guide students to refine the way of describing route.
