Passage 15(原创题)
At this moment around the world, sportsmen are stepping almost without clothes into cold rooms. Why on earth are they doing this? Because it's supposed to help them feel better. The treatment is called whole-body cryotherapy(冷冻疗法).

①Basketball star LeBron James has tried it. It works like this. You take off everything but your underclothes. Then you put on warm socks and gloves and step into a room that looks like a shower, except your head sticks out the top. Once you're locked in, air cooled to below
-200 ºF(-129℃) fills the room.

Supporters believe the freezing air helps muscles(肌肉) get well faster and cut down other pain. After his first cryotherapy, Phil McKenzie, a professional football player, felt better. He told Scientific American, “I felt well right away. My sleep was better.” Soon, he was using the room four times a week. Those who support it make all kinds of articles about its advantages. Supposedly, that freezing air can improve the color of skin, make you happier, lose weight, slow aging, and much more.

②Actually, several small scientific studies have tried to prove whether the treatment can help muscles get well after exercise, with encouraging results. But there just isn't enough evidence(证据) to show that the treatment works. The good sides some people experience may just be the placebo effect(安慰剂效应). When a patient expects that the treatment will work well and he believes it will, he will probably think he has been well after the treatment.

③The US has actually reported a warning about whole-body cryotherapy. It warns that the thing that is used to cool the room may make it difficult to breathe. Frostbite(冻伤) is another possible risk, which is why patients who try the treatment wear gloves and socks. What do you think?
