1. 语法一致
主语与谓语动词在语法形式上保持一致。
（1） 当主语为单数可数名词、代词、不可数名词、不定代词时，谓语动词用单数形式。
（2） 当主语为复数可数名词、代词时，谓语动词用复数形式。
（3） 当“each/every ＋名词”作主语时，谓语动词用单数形式；当主语后跟with， together with， besides， except， as well as等时，谓语动词与主语保持一致。

2. 意义一致
谓语动词的单复数要视主语所表达的单复数概念而定。
（1） 集体名词family， team， group， class等，当看作整体时，用单数；强调成员时，则用复数。
（2） 表示时间、价格、质量以及距离的名词作主语时，谓语动词用单数。
（3） “the number of ＋名词”作主语时，谓语动词用单数；“a number of ＋名词”作主语时，谓语动词用复数。

3. 就近一致
谓语动词的单复数取决于最靠近它的主语的单复数形式。
（1） 由neither ...nor ...， either ...or ...， not only ...but also ...连接的并列主语，谓语动词与靠近它的主语保持一致。
（2） There be句型中be动词跟邻近主语在单复数形式上保持一致。
