How much progress do you think you’ve made in English this year, Lingling? 玲玲，你觉得今年自己的英语取得了多少进步？ progress此处用作不可数名词，意为“进步；进展”。 常用搭配：make much/great progress 取得很大进步 make progress in (doing) sth. 在（做某事）方面取得进步 e.g. Little John has made much progress at school. 小约翰在学校取得了很大进步。 Mary made great progress in English last term. 上学期玛丽在英语学习方面取得很大进步。 how much+不可数名词...? 意为“多少...?”用于询问不可数名词的量，还可以用于询问价格和程度。 你想要多少牛奶？ How much milk do you want ? 草莓价格是多少？ How much are the strawberries ? 你有多爱看电视？ How much do you like watching TV ? do you think是插入语，意思是 “你认为”，常放在特殊疑问词后面。 你认为他在忙什么？ What do you think he is doing ? 2. I think I’ve achieved a lot. 我觉得我的进步很大。 achieve作动词，意为“成功；实现”，常指（凭长期努力）达到（某目标、地位、标准）。 e.g. There are many people who will work hard to achieve these goals. 有很多人会努力工作来实现这些目标。 I haven't achieved very much today. 我今天没做成多少事。 Language points 其名词形式为achievement“完成；达到；成就；成绩”。 当它意为“成就；业绩”时是可数名词, 当它意为“实现；成功”时是不可数名词。 It is a great achievement to him. 对他来说, 这是一个伟大的成就。 When he finished the work, he felt a sense of achievement. 当他完成工作时,他感到一种成就感。 拓展: achieve, earn, get, win这组词的共同意思是“取得; 获得”。其区别是： achieve指克服困难之后而获得;  earn指通过努力而获得; get是常用词,可指主动争取,也可指被动接受,有时不一定需要很大努力就能获得; win指在竞争、比赛、争论或战斗中击败对手而赢得胜利, 可以通过努力获得, 也可以偶然获得。 Language points 3.
