Period 6 Writing Writing a persuasive letter 1. Discourse analysis [What] This passage is a persuasive letter, aiming at proposing “Clean Your Plate” campaign, which can reduce pollution. [Why] This passage guides students to have a basic master of the stylistic features, writing techniques and writing purpose of a persuasive letter, expressing their own wish to protect environment and calling on others to practice the environmental protection concept. [How] With the structure features and writing format of a letter and the language features of a persuasive letter, this passage spread the correct environmental protection concept, calling on people to practice low-carbon life-style, reaching the goal that people live in harmony with nature. 2. Analysis of students After the former five periods, students have a better understanding of environmental protection concept and the practice principles, and are able to distinguish whether the life common sense is true or false, on the basis of which, students need to know and master the stylistic features and writing methods of the persuasive letter. 3.
