Lesson 5
Letters of Thanks
Objectives
Compose appropriate letters of thanks;
Express thanks properly and sincerely;
Give specific information to show appreciation;
Make correct complex sentences.
Objectives
Anyone who has done something for you or for your company most certainly will appreciate your taking time to say “ thank you ”. A letter of thanks or thank-you letter is a letter that is used when one person/party wishes to express appreciation to another.
Thank-you letters enhance business and personal relationships and reward those who make a practice of sending them. Even when you have thanked someone in person, a written thank- you is often expected or, at least, appreciated. In the business world, the thank- you letter has become a must if you care about your career.
Getting Started

I am very grateful for the time you spent answering my somewhat persistent questions, and for the trouble you took, to make my stay in your university as interesting as possible. I really appreciate all the help you gave me.
