It is one of the basic obligations for the exporter to make delivery of the goods according to the stipulated time,place,and mode of transport in the contract. Transport allows goods to be conveyed from one place to another and to places of destination in the end.Goods can be transported by road,rail or air, but in most cases, by sea. Background Information 2.Insurance In international trade , goods traveling long distances to another country , out of the direct physical control of both the buyer and the seller , may face all kinds of risks and losses and therefore must be insured against loss anddamage at each stage of their journey. In this way, whatever mode of transport is being used，neither the exporter nor the importer suffers any loss. So, insurance exists to protect the importer or exporter against the financial loss which he would otherwise suffer in case damage or loss was inflicted upon him. The scope of the subject matter insured depends on different insurance covers. There are two types of insurance coverage under Ocean Marine Cargo Insurance，basic coverage and additional coverage. Background Information Basic coverage mainly includes FPA、WPA and AllRisks.All Risks is the most comprehensive of the three basic covers.Basic coverage can be applied for independently, but additional coverage is the amendment to the basic coverage.Additional coverage includes general additional coverage and special additional coverage. These additional covers are usually taken out together with basic covers.
