The Significance of Packing and the Introduction of Insurance
1. The Significance of Packing
Packing is of great importance in international trade. The ultimate purpose of packing is to keep the transported goods in perfect condition with no damage or loss. Packing can be divided into the transportation packing (the outer packing) and the sales packing (the inner packing). The former is done mainly to provide protection for goods transported for a long distance while the latter is done mainly to push sales. Still, there is another category of packing, called“the neutral packing”,
which carries no mark of the name of the origin country of the packed goods and no sign of the original trademark with a view to eluding the tariff of the import country or satisfying the buyer’s special requirements.
