Important Points 动词-ing形式作主语 ①动词-ing形式作主语，相当于一个名词, 多指抽象、概念性的动作，经常性或习惯性行为，单个v-ing作主语谓语动词用_______数。 (1) _________ (see) is believing. (2) _________ (read) aloud is very important for us to learn English. (3) _________ (play) badminton is my favourite sport. Translating the following sentences. 沉迷手机是浪费时间的。（be addicted to doing沉迷于……） ___________________________________is a waste of time. 论此类事情无益。 ___________________________________is no good. 参加这个活动是值得的。 ___________________________________is worthwhile. ②有时为了句子平衡，避免头重脚轻, 用it作形式主语，而把真正的主语(动词-ing短语)后置。但这种句子形式有一定的限制，作表语的只能是某些形容词或少数名词。 常见的固定句型有：It is/was a waste of time doing … 做……是浪费时间的 It is/was no good doing … 做……是没益的 It is/was no use doing … 做……是无用处的 It is/was worth doing … 做……是值得的 There is no sense in doing … 做……没有道理 ③ “There is + no” 后可用-ing形式作主语，表示“没法……”。 这种结构的意思相当于 “It is impossible to do… ” There is no hiding of evil but not to do it. 若要人不知, 除非己莫为。 ④ 动词-ing形式与不定式做主语的比较 动词-ing形式通常表示抽象动作；且表示已知的事情或经验。 动词不定式作主语则表示某次具体动作或行为；且表示未完成的事情或未达成的目的。 例1：Doing nothing is doing evil．什么也不做就是作恶。 例2：It’s an honor for me to be invited to the party.我很荣幸被邀请参加这个晚会。 Exercise 1.
