Unit 5 —(4)
Safety Education for Teenagers
Have you ever learned about protecting yourself from possible dangers at school? What should you do if there's a fire?
Reading Activity
Read the following passage and try to understand the passage.
To promote safety education and reduce accidents among primary and secondary school students, the Ministry of Education and other ministries made a decision to establish the National Student Safety Education Day in 1996. Every year, the last Monday in March is a good chance to learn about safety. On this day, students from all around our country learn how to keep themeselves safe. For example, some students practise how to walk away safely from a fire. Firefighters and pupils take part in a game simulating the emergency evacuation at school.
