“Protect china, protect China”
As we all know, cultural heritage is the crystallization(结晶) of our ancestors’ wisdom, of which porcelain has always been a unique representative. So the topic of my speech today is “Protect china, protect China”.
According to Tiangong Kaiwu, “ in order to make a piece of porcelain(瓷器), we have to carry out 72 processes”. Western countries have struggled to make porcelain bottles. However, no matter what they did, they couldn’t produce the porcelain as exquisite as china. It shows how wise and talented our ancestors are. Unfortunately, China's craft of porcelain is confronted with a serious crisis----fewer and fewer inheritors devote themselves to inheriting porcelain.Under this circumstances, how can we prevent the craftsmanship of porcelain from disappearing?
On the one hand, it is necessary to strengthen the awareness of inheriting traditional porcelain, which requires the joint efforts of the state, society and individuals to strengthen the publicity and promotion. On the other hand, great significance should be attached to further study and research of traditional porcelain craft. Educational institutions at all levels can set up relevant professional courses to train professional ceramic craftsmen and researchers.
As a new generation of youth, we should realize the hardships and difficulties of making every piece of porcelain. Let’s contact, understand and spread the invaluable intangible cultural heritage to “Protect china, protect China”.
