Module 5　Look after yourself Unit 1　第1课时 ★学以致用★ 1.【辨析】take，cost，spend与pay (1)take主要指花费时间，常用于it takes sb.some time to do sth.结构中，其中，it作形式主语，真正的主语是后面的不定式。 (2)cost的主语只能是物或事，常用于sth.cost(s)(sb.)some money结构中。 (3)spend的主语必须是人，常用于sb.spend some time/money on sth.，sb.spend some money(on)doing sth.或sb.spend some time(in)doing sth.结构中。 (4)pay的主语是人，常用于sb.pay some money for sth.结构中。 用take，cost，spend或pay的适当形式填空 ①I have to pay them 20 dollars for this room each month. ②Betty spent two hours on this maths problem yesterday. ③This science book has cost me a great amount of money. ④It will take me too much time to read this novel. 2．They'll catch up in a few minutes.他们一会儿就会赶上来。 (1)catch up意为“赶上；追上(某人)”。常用结构catch up with sb.意为“赶上某人”。 (2)“in＋一段时间”意为“在……之后”，常用于将来时态的句子中。对“in＋一段时间”提问应用how soon。 ①为了赶上班上其他同学，莉莉努力学习。 Lily worked hard to catch up with the rest of the class. ②Miss Brown has gone to Shanghai on business and she will come (come)back in three days. 3．Who's missing？谁掉队了？ missing作形容词，意为“找不到的；失踪的；丢失的”，在句中作表语或定语。其动词形式miss可意为“未出席；未出现；未击中；未达到”，还意为“惦念；怀念；想念”。 My dictionary is missing (miss)．I can't find it anywhere.
