Exercise 3
Purpose: to help students listen for the correct order of a dialogue
· Direct students to the sentences in the box. Read the sentences aloud or have a more proficient student read them. Ask“What is the first sentence of the dialogue?”Elicit c. For more proficient students, ask them how they came up with the answer. (possible answer: There is the greeting Hi. ) Say“Now put the sentences in the correct order”.Monitor students as they do the exercise, making sure they understand.
· Say“Now listen to the dialogue and check your answer”. Play the dialogue so students can check their answers. Pause after each line if students have trouble.
· Say“Now listen again and repeat”. Play the dialogue again, pausing after each line for students to repeat.
· If this exercise is too challenging for your students, play the recording before students complete the dialogue. Then play it again for them to check their answers.
· Have the students say the dialogue in pairs. Check students' pronunciation of the Key Expressions.
