Warm-up
Exercise 1
Purpose: to help students think about what's important for teamwork
· Ask students to think of activities for which teamwork is important. Elicit appropriate responses. Allow students to express themselves freely, not worrying about accuracy. If you feel your students are ready, you may skip this step.
· Direct students to the list of phrases. Read them aloud, making sure students understand the meaning. To confirm comprehension, ask students to rephrase or give examples, for example, item 1, pay attention to what everyone says. Have students get into pairs or small groups and ask“Which do you think are important for effective teamwork? Discuss with each other”. Monitor as students talk, offering help as needed. Direct them to the Example as a model.
· Come together as a class, encouraging students to express their opinions.
Expansion: Don't Stop!
Note: Use this activity with more proficient students. Ask students to think of other qualities needed for teamwork. Introduce the idea of leadership. Ask“What are the qualities of a good leader?”Have students write the list on a poster that they can display in the classroom and add to throughout the year. Refer to the list when students are doing group work, reminding them of what makes an effective team.

Exercise 2
Purpose: to help students complete a table based on a listening
· Direct students to the photos. Ask“What do you think the class project will be on?”Elicit an appropriate response, or simply ask students to think about the question silently. If you feel your students are ready, you may skip this step.
· Say“Listen to the first part of the interview. What's the class project on?”Play the first part of the interview the first time. Ask“What's the project on?”Elicit famous buildings. Direct students to the table and go over the information. Then say“N
