Warm-up
Exercise 1
Purpose: to help students discuss what TV programmes they watched during their vacation
· Review the TV programmes from page 5, using the photos in the book and the ones from the Getting Ready exercises. Ask a more proficient student " Did you watch any interesting programmes during your vacation?" Elicit an appropriate response. Alter-natively, read the Example.
· Say“Make a list of some of the TV pro-grammes you watched during your vacation”.Monitor, offering help as needed. If you feel your students are ready to do the exercise, you may skip these steps.
· Say“Look at the chart". Read the information in the chart aloud, or have a student read it. Say“Complete the chart”. Monitor, offering help as needed. Have students get into groups of three or four. Then say“Talk about the TV programmes you watched during your vacation”. Monitor as students talk, offering help as needed. Check students' pronunciation of the Key Words.

Exercise 2
Purpose: to help students read and understand a text
· Direct students to the photos. Ask“Which kinds of TV programmes do you see here?”Elicit an appropriate response, for example, a movie, a sports programme, a nature pro-gramme and a documentary. (If necessary, explain that a documentary is a TV pro-gramme about a true story.) If you feel your students are ready to do the exercise, you may skip this step.
· Say“Now read the reviews. Which one didn't the reviewer like?” Monitor as students read, offering help as needed.
· When students have finished, ask "Which one didn't the reviewer like?" Go over the answer, asking a student to say the answer aloud.
