Period 1
Step 1 Lead-in
Play a video of “the voice of music”, let students talk about the music they hear in the video. Then learn words for different music types by picture showing. This activity introduces the key vocabulary.
Step 2 Presentation
Free talk about what kind of music ss like by using the adjectives to describe the music. Meanwhile present the sentence pattern “ I like music that is quiet and gentle.” Help the students to make sentences with it.
Step 3 Listening
1b. Play the tape for the first time and check (√) the kinds of music Tony and Betty like.
Play the tape again and fill in the blanks.
Step 4 Pair work
Students work in pairs and talk about the music they like by using the new sentence pattern they have learned.

Step 5 Listening
2a&2b. Talk about musician with students, then listen to a conversation between
