Students interested in the club from smaller schools will be invited to participate and to help grow the chess-playing community in our area. Playing chess can help develop critical (批判性的) thinking and creativity, increase concentration and memory and improve problem-solving and planning skills. Members can join teams they like as long as they have enough spare time. The contest season runs from January to April with regular, scheduled practices beginning in November. Every year, we hold our annual Pottery (陶器) and Ice Cream Sale, in which we sell ice cream in our handmade ceramic bowls. Students in this club will get a deeper look into various clay (陶土) operations and will gain a better understanding of teamwork in pottery.
