专题06 阅读理解之记叙文
(2022秋·广东东莞·高一东莞市东莞中学松山湖学校校考期中)As I grew up, my grandma, who I have been told that I am so very much like, would say things such as, “that is not a ladylike way to sit”, or “that is not a word that ladies use”. My grandma is one of the classiest, most genuine, and most gentle women that I know. I try to be half the person she is.
I have always considered myself a “lady”. I pay close attention to my manners. I smile at strangers, offer my seat to the elderly, and hold the door open for the person behind me. However, I recently met a woman in passing that made me question what I have been taught for the last 21 years. The conversation we had was about “girls these days” and how they differ from the way girls were in the past. She said that there was a big difference between a “lady” and a “woman”. I looked at her curiously.
“A real lady does not give her opinions or feelings: those are women. And women these days always make the mistake of offering their opinions, and feelings, and talking out of turn,” I smiled at her politely, wished her a pleasant evening.
Unlike most conversations one would have with a stranger, this one stuck with me. It turns out that I am not a “lady”. But I have accepted that truth with my whole heart. I take great pride in my opinions, my brain, and the bravery in which I can stand up for myself and the things that I believe in. I am this way, because I am a young version of my grandma. And I know that she would express that she is “ladylike”. But, in reality, she is a strong, independent and smart woman.
With this, I would like to remind young women that it is not wrong to voice your opinions, embrace your beliefs, and be independent. Throughout your life, if someone comes along and quiets your voice, makes your opinions feel wrong, or take no notice of your feelings: smile, nod politely, and keep doing what you were doing anyway.

(2022秋·湖北孝感·高一校联考期中)Anna Chojnicka was quarantined (隔离) last year in her house because of COVID-19. She was so bored that she absent-mindedly picked up a banana on her kitchen table and started running her fork along the outside of the skin. The dark lines that appeared on the skin looked interesting to her, and she watched as the marks gradually got darker. She continued doodling and was soon interested.
Chojnicka started making pictures that were more and more complex (复杂的) using the same way—only pressure, no paint—until she drew an Ethiopian coffee pot and cup. Her new hobby was born. Since that first day she knew what she could do by drawing on a banana skin, Chojnicka has been posting her daily paintings online, where she has thousands of fans. “I haven’t missed a day, but I know I can’t keep that up forever,” she says, adding that she finishes her daily picture, takes a photo and then eats the banana because she doesn’t like waste.
Her art comes to life by oxidization (氧化). Just like apples, bananas oxidize or turn brown as their cells interact with oxygen in the air. Cells that are damaged brown faster. By varying the time when she applied the marks, Chojnicka discovered that she could create complex pictures.
While her banana drawings began as a way to overcome boredom, they have become something bigger. “I saw a chance to put it to something good,” says Chojnicka. With the help of her social media fans, she has collected about $1,600 for FareShare, an organization in the United Kingdom that provides food for people in need.
5.What does the underlined word “doodling” in Paragraph 1 mean?

6.What does Chojnicka do after finishing her daily creation?
A.She colors it with dark paint.
B.She sells it to her followers online.
C.She throws the oxidized banana away.

(2022秋·河南洛阳·高一统考期中)Many of my friends meet on Wednesday in the morning to go to a specific parking lot sale held at a second-hand store. We love it because we can put whatever fits into the grocery bag for just $1.
As we finished one day and paid our dollars, we noticed the clothing that remained was being thrown into their trash (垃圾) can. We asked why, and they said they had no room for the extra clothes. I asked them why they have not contacted other places like churches, shelters for women and children. They said they did several times in the past and they only came two or three times and stopped as they had to be there at a specific time in the morning which was right after the parking lot sale. After coming a few times, most of these organizations quit.
Well, we said that we could take whatever was left. They agreed! So we loaded our two cars up to the roadside and dragged it to our city. We have done this every Wed now for two years! We opened up a clothing closet called Gifts Of Grace when a storage facility donated two units to us. We were holding yard sales and markets until then for anyone who needed clothing.
Now we have a real building and advertise free clothing for anyone who has the need. We have served hundreds of families in the tough economy (经济) so far with the clothing they were just going to throw away. Now our community is better because of it. Their lives are made a bit easier to have this opportunity to find nice clothing for not one single penny.
We volunteer and run it about two or three days a week.
9.Why did the organizations quit according to the workers at the store?
A.They didn’t arrive on time. B.They didn’t need the clothes.
