“more ... than”和“fewer/less ... than”常用来对人或事物的数量进行比较,表示“比......多”和“比......少”。
例句：
- Mary has more pencils than John. 玛丽的铅笔比约翰多。
- There are fewer students in Class One than Class Two. 一班的学生比二班少。
- I spend less time on math than Chinese. 我花在数学上的时间比中文少。
注意：
- 表示“比......多”时,无论可数或不可数名词都用more修饰;
- 表示“比......少”时,可数名词用fewer修饰,不可数名词用less修饰。
the most, the fewest/least
“the most”和“the fewest/least”常用来对人或事物的数量进行比较,表示“最多”和“最少”。
例句：
- Tom reads the most books in our class. 我们班汤姆阅读的书最多。
- Gymnastics has the fewest players of any sport. 体操的运动员数量是所有运动里最少的。
- He did the least work on this group project. 在这个小组项目中,他做的工作最少。
注意：
- 表示“最多”时,无论可数或不可数名词都用most修饰;
- 表示“最少”时,可数名词用fewest修饰,不可数名词用least修饰。
