Unit 7 The Birthday Party

Topic 1 When is your birthday?

                             Section A Period 1(1a-2b)

Ⅰ. Material analysis

本节课为第七单元话题一的A部分的第一课时，.主要是学习12个月的单词表达以及句子结构：When/Where were you/was he/she born?I/He/She was born in...，2a主要是学习年份的读和写。1a通过Kangkang和Michael谈论英国作家J.K.Rowling展开学习，对话主要涉及到J.K.Rowling的作品、出生地点及出生年月。通过人物对话，学生将学习关于询问和回答出生年月与地点的表达方式并初步了解be动词的一般过去时。本部分计划教学时间为2课时，第一课时为1a-2b，第二课时用于展示小组学习成果+3a、3b内容。

Ⅱ. Teaching aims

   Knowledge aims:1.Learn the words :January,February.March,April,May,

                 June,July,August,September,October,November,December,

                 writer,novel,fan,thousand.

2.Sentence structures:--When/Where were you born?

                                      ---I was born in...

                                      ---When/where was he/she born?

                                      ---He/She was born...

  Skill aims:1.To master the expression of months and years;

           2.To use the sentence structures in the real situations;

           3.was/were born in;

           4.develop the listening and speaking skills.

  Emotional aims:  learn to know more and care for the people you like such as

classmates teachers and relatives,remember the birthday of the one you love,full of love in the heart.

Ⅲ.. The key and difficult points

   The key points:1.the expression of months and years;

                2.can read the sentence structures;

                3.the understanding of 1a.

   The difficult points:1.the understanding of was/were born(past tense);

                    2.to use the sentences in the real situation;

                    3.Remember and write the 12 months and “year”.

Ⅳ.  Teaching procedures

   Step 1:Review

 Read 1-999 and lead in “thousand”.

设计意图：回顾七年级上学过的基数词，为2a学习年份的表达做铺垫，降低读写的难度,同时带入’thousand”新词。

   Step 2:Warm up&Lead-in

      Enjoy a song “months of a year” and think about “How many months are there in a year”？

     设计意图：以“month of the year”歌曲导入，活跃气氛，吸引学生的注意力,同时与本文新知内容相吻合，以带着问题听歌曲的形式自然过渡到新知内容。分析教材1c内容发现并不是按照1-12月顺序来展示的，故选取的歌也按照季节来认识12个月，为1c的学习做了铺垫，学生不会产生疑惑课本展示的月份顺序。

Step 3:Presentation

1.新授1-6月单词：Present the pictures and words

设计意图：与月份相关的图片，四线三格，音频三者的结合，可以加深学生的印象，在纯正的音频中学习。同时书写上也可以兼顾，因12个月一节课记忆会比较难，故课件上采用音形义帮助记忆，同时为后面的活动做铺垫。

活动一：踢足球游戏；活动二：脱口而出游戏（根据图片说月份）

设计意图：先学6个单词，马上设计游戏活动加以巩固，有助于学生形象记忆。

2.                    新授7-12月单词：Present the pictures and words.

设计意图：特意选取月份节日相符合的图片，有助于联想记忆。

     活动一：Guessing game 点击数字，出现相应图片，根据图片说月份。

     活动二：Quick response 看单词快速说中文

设计意图：针对月份记忆的巩固操练

活动三：根据节日说月份

设计意图：这个活动跟前面新授单词时候采用的图片联系起来，新授采用图片方式，检测记忆时采用的是英文文字方式，前后形成完整的联系，图意结合，检测12个月单词掌握情况，为后面1a 的listening和对话做铺垫，降低后面学习句子的难度。
