The First Day in High School

Today was the first day of my new life.I looked at my new books and checked1 everything for the new school year.I was excited as well as worried.

Entering new school, I was curious about everything, new classrooms, new teachers, new classmates etc.It would be a new start for each student.And what I was worried about is that I had no friends here.What if no one liked to play with me？Were the teachers strict with students?

一、元音字母在重读音节中的读音

[提醒]　元音字母在重读音节中的特殊读音：

(1)a在/w/音后面读/ɒ/，如want，watch，what等；

a在f，n，sk，ph，sp，ss，st，th前读/ɑː/，如after，glass，father等；

(2)i在nd，ld和gh前读/aɪ/，如find，light，child等；

(3)o在st，ld前读/əʊ/，如most，cold，post；

o在m，n，v，th前读/ʌ/，如come，monkey，love等；

(4)在开音节中，元音字母u在辅音字母j，l，r，s后面时读/uː/音。例如：June，blue，

ruler，super等。
