IV. 后置定语的应用。
介词短语用来修饰某个中心名词,其位置在被修饰中心名词的后面,我们称为后置定语。如:

在我旁边的那个女孩是我的朋友The girl next to me is my friend.
(The boy与 The girl是中心名词;in black 与 next to 是后置定语。)
