一．Teaching Aims:

1. Learn the four main types of pollution and its causes and effects.
2. Be able to guess the meaning of the words through the context.
3. Master the ways to reduce the pollution.
4. Realize the importance of protecting the environment.

二．Learning procedures:

Step1. learn A story about the changes of a beautiful village then guess the reasons of the changes.

Step 2. Scan the passage, then answer the following questions. (P33)

Step 3. Skim the passage, then complete the table. (P34)

Step4. Brainstorming

 (watch a video from the earth,then think about what we should do to help the earth.)

For examples:

Walk or ride a bike as possible as we can.

Turn off the light and tap in time.

Use cloth bags instead of plastic bags..

Plant trees when we have free time.

Reduce the use of chemicals.

Make classrooms less noisy.

Use both sides of paper when we write.

Classify the rubbish.

Step5. Project:Work in groups

(Make cards about different pollution by groups and make up a wall newspaper. )
