Step 1 Revision
1. Help Ss make sentences with “more … than, less … than, fewer … than, the most, the least, the fewest” using the objects in the classroom.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Introduce background. Then go through the table in Part A1 on Page 32. Explain some of the words. Learn the new word. Ask Ss to listen to the recording twice and finish the table in Part A and check the answers. Pause the recording for the second time after each answer to give Ss more time to write down the answers if necessary.
Step 3 Reading
1. Let Ss go through Daniel’s article before they do the exercise in Part A2 on Page 32 and check if they understand it. Check if Ss remember something about Daniel, John and Nancy.
2. Let Ss finish the exercises in Part A3 on Page 33 according to the information in Parts A1 and A2.
Step 4 Practice
1. Know the situation with Ss and ask Ss to read Part B on Page 33, then ask and answer about the conversation.
1. What’s the name of our school?
2. How many students/teachers/classrooms are there?
3. Do you have much homework to do?
4. Do you wear uniforms? Do you like them? Why?
5. Do you do morning exercises?
6. How many days do you have in your summer holiday?
1.Free talk: Ask the students to talk about the three schools in a few words according to the lists.
2.Check the answers with the students.
