Greet the class briefly. 2. Discuss with the students like this: Teacher: Guess! What festival is it according to the picture you see as quickly as you can? Students: Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, The Water Festival ... Step 2 Presentation (1a) 1. Ask the students to match the pictures with the descriptions. (1) The Water Festival in Thailand (2) The Dragon Boat Festival in Hong Kong (3) The Chinese Spring Festival in Beijing (4) The Lantern Festival in Jiangxi And then check the answers: d a b c 2. Ask students to look at the picture on the screen. Make students focus on each picture and encourage them to talk about it. Step 3 Listening (1b) 1. Read the instruction. 2. Play the recording for the first time. Students only listen. 3. Play the recording for a second time. Ask the students to circle T for true or F for false in 1b. 4. Check the answers with the whole class. Then listen again. Step 4 Pair work (1c) 1. In groups, interview their partners about festivals. 2. Choose one of the groups to report to the class. Step 5 Listening (2a-2b) 1. Read the sentences in 2a. 2. Play the recording for the first time. Students listen and circle the correct words in the sentences. 3. Play the recording again. Students listen and fill in
