Unit 20 An ordinary life 平凡的生活重点单词及拓展： 1. life 生活；生命，既是可数名词，也是不可数名词 1）可数名词，复数为lives，表示某种方式的生活；一生，一辈子；生命（具体）；传记等。 例：Many people lost their lives in the traffic accidents. 很多人在那场交通事故中丧生。 She had a long and happy life. 她度过了漫长而幸福的一生。 He has written a new life of Newton. 他写了本新的牛顿传。 2） 不可数名词，表示泛指的生活；抽象意义的生命；泛指的人生；活力等 例：Do you like life in the country? 你喜欢乡村生活吗？ Life is a long journey. 生命是一次漫长的旅程。 Children were full of life this morning. 孩子们今天早上充满活力。 2. want = would like, 想要（注意want是实义动词would 是情态动词） 1） 后面直接接名词、代词作宾语，想要某人/某物。 例：Do you want that jacket for New Year’s Day? = Would you like that jacket for ...... 过新年你想要那件夹克衫吗？ 2） want to do sth. = would like to do sth. 想要做某事 don’t (doesn’t, didn’t)want to do sth. = wouldn’t like to do sth. 不想做某事 例： I want to tell you something. 我想告诉你一些事。 Tom wouldn’t like to go there by bus. Tom不想乘公交车去那。 造句练习： 1）每个人的生活都是平凡的。 2）你想拥有什么样的生活？ 3）在那场战争（war）中，数以万计的人丧失了性命。 3. will 的用法 1）表示将来的动作或状态，意为将，要，否定式为will not=won’t 例：He will go to America tomorrow. 他明天将要去美国. 拓展：will的过去式为would, 可以用于过去将来时，也可以用于从句中表示主从句时态的一致。 分析：Tom will go to America tomorrow. Tom said he would go to America the next day. （主句用了过去时，从句要用过去的相应时态，所以will变would） 2）表示说话者或主语的意愿,决心,意向，为情态动词。 例： Will you help me with my English? Yes ,I will. 你愿意帮助我学英语吗？是的，我愿意。 3） 用于祈使句的反义疑问句中 *若陈述部分为祈使句，反意疑问句通常用will you, won’t you, would you等： Mail the letter today, will you? 今天就把信发掉，好吗? Try to be back by two, won’t you? 设法两点之前回来，好吗? *若陈述部分为否定式，则反意疑问句部分只用will you： Don’t forget to post the letter, will you? 请别忘了寄信。 *以let us引导的祈使句，则反义疑问句部分用will you, let’s引导的祈使句，反义疑问句部分则用shall we. Let us study English hard, will you? 让我们好好学习英语，好吗？（不包括对方） Let’s go to school together, shall we? 咱们一块去上学，好吗？（包括对方） 4. spend/pay/take/cost表花费时的用法。（过去式分别为spent, paid, took, cost） （1）人+ spend + time/money on sth. 在…上花费时间（金钱） 例：I spent two hours on this maths problem. 我花了两个小时在这道数学题上。 人+ spend + time/money（in）doing sth. 花费时间（金钱）做某事 例：They spent two years（in）building this bridge. 他们花了两年时间修造这座桥。
